Local Transparency
For specifics on spending data please visit:
LG Group Transparency Programme
Please Note: these are draft guidelines found onthe LG Transparency website for consultationand may be amended by the LG group in the
future.
What you need to know:
1. Data can be published in many different formats, suchas:
• A document in PDF format
• A spreadsheet in CSV format
2. The Open data initiative is promoting the use of machinereadable formats, in this case CSV or xml files. LGadvise authorities to publish the data in both formats:CSV and PDF. Microsoft Excel files should be convertedto CSV.
3. The CSV file should have precisely one header line withfield names exactly as in the example file supplied.Values must be separated by a comma character. Please Note: It is unable to deal with non-Westerncharacters (like Chinese). In cases where you have suchpayments, an alternative route to creating the CSV filesin Unicode format will need to be found.
