Public Comment Registration

The Port Jefferson Board of Education welcomes and appreciates your attendance at this meeting.Residents wishing to participate in Public Comment must fill out the information below and handthis form to the District Clerk.

Please Note: This is a business meeting of the Board of Education held in public. The Board has setaside this opportunity for members of the community to share comments or ask questions to theBoard. If a response is needed, this will most often come after the administration has anopportunity to review the issue and not at the Board meeting itself. We ask that members of thecommunity bear in mind the heavy schedule of the Board and limit your comments to a maximumof 5 minutes with the total Public Comment limited to 15 minutes (BOE Policy 2350).

Please, also, keep the following additional guidelines in mind:

During the first invitation to Public Comment, residents are to limit comments to items that appear on the agenda for that evenings meeting. The Board will only hear items during the first invitationthat relate directly to an agenda item.

During the second invitation, residents are permitted to address any appropriate item with theBoard.

Residents are asked to strictly refrain from naming any specific student or District employee duringPublic Comment. Concerns of this kind are best addressed with the appropriate Districtadministrator.

The Board appreciates all concerns or questions being addressed in a respectful, courteous tone.
