5G Core Service Orchestration• 5G Core Service Orchestrator manages the life

cycle of the 5G Core network services • Every service has API-triggerable Life Cycle

Management operations backed by workflows and automated by integration with assurancesystems• 5G Core services must be based on declarative

templates, orderable with an API and provisioned automatically• NFs should be stateless where possible, to

Software Architecture RequirementsCloud Native:Each component can run as a microservice which can be instantiated, scaled, healed and terminated without affecting the rest of the system

Standards Based:Support relevant standards from 3GPP, ETSI, IETF, including data models and APIs required for managing Cloud Native systems

VNF/CNF and NS Descriptors:Deployed in a TOSCA compliant package, aligned with ETSI SOL001 standard

Northbound APIs:Support of TMF 633, 638, 639, 642, 645 APIs for service catalogue, service inventory, resource inventory, and service order management, and additionally for service qualification

Southbound APIs:Support of ETSI SOL005, Kubernetes APIs etc.

5G Readiness:Support of existing and evolving 3GPP related standards for 5GC NF and for 5G network management e.g. TS 23.501, TS 23.502, TR 28.801 etc.

Automation Workstream Goal

• Kubernetes based infrastructure is deployed and available for the developers within Microservices and Orchestration Workstreams

• Deployment automation framework for each of the microservices (such as Helm charts) is developed

• Software test gates and automated CI voting workflows defined for each of the microservice components and auto-triggered on every commit

• CI dashboard and gate status publicly available for all components

Design, develop and deliver an infrastructure and test automation, i.e., CI/CD framework for

running and testing OCN microservices only.
