Interview With the Principal of the School Liron Zakai

1. What do you think about the idea of school uniform?

I think that there should be a uniform at school because school uniform shows equality between the students. In

addition, school is a public place and it should be respected and the students should dress appropriately.

2. What do you like about the school?

I like children and adolescence and I chose this age because puberty is a wonderful age. I think the school has a

very good team. I also like the looks of school, there is an atmosphere of a community and people can get to

know each other.

3. What changes do you think need to be done at school?

I think the most important thing you need to do is to have smaller classes, meaning that the number of students

in the class will be no more than 25, the students will keep the school environment clean and that learning will

be more varied.

4. What do you think is a good lesson?

I think what is a good lesson is a lesson in which there is a good connection between the students and the

teacher. The students should have the ability to speak their mind and be active in class.

5. Do you think that the amount of trips at school is good, why?

I think there should be more trips, but it costs a lot. Therefore, we have trips in which you can walk to a certain

place. When you go on a trip with buses, it costs 12,000 for a grade.

6. Do you like being the school principal?

It is a job with a lot of responsibility that can have an impact on children. Choosing this profession makes me

feel good and I enjoy seeing their development, but it is not always simple and convenient.

The Aliens Strike Again

The year is 3964, we developed

space travel. Peace ruled the earth…

until they came!!!! The aliens. The

humans tried to defeat the aliens but

the aliens were too strong. A lot of

people died and earth has been

destroyed. The last human stole a

spaceship and escaped to SPACE.

Then he and his family built a house

and got the humanism back to life.

The Winter Party

Dancing Boys

At the beginning of the ceremony Alon Lazar, David Tavor, Mor

Gordon and many other pupils danced beautifully. The dance of these

handsome boys was amazing. The girls who were responsible for

choreography were Maya, Nitzan and Neta. Behind the great talented

dancers was also the queen Gaia Moran who was responsible for the

boys' costumes.

Hosts

David Tavor and Maya Wallach hosted the evening charmingly and

wonderfully. However, because the audience did not cooperate at all,

it was the low point of the evening.

Food:

The snacks were very tasty. There was a fondue and juicy exotic

flavors that created a party in your mouth. The pizzas were also fine

and gave a good feeling. Raspberry juice was bad and luckily for us,

there was plenty of water. Unfortunately, the water ran out quickly.

Disco:

Disco was really fun and successful, but it was short. However,

although it was short, the DJ was excellent. In addition, the place was

big enough for all the 8th graders.

In short, the Winter Party was a huge success and we are all looking

Why do teenagers start

smoking?

The teenagers start smoking because

they think that they are cool.

Another reason is that they are

curious. In addition, the teenagers

start smoking because of a peer

pressure.

In our opinion, the majority of

teenagers in the 8th

grade still do not

smoke.

Some of the reasons we think that

most of the pupils in 8th

grade do not

smoke are:

1. Most of the pupils practice

some kind of sport.

2. Some of them are still afraid of

the reaction of their parents.

3. Some of them are afraid that

their friends would tell on them.

4. Some of the pupils are afraid of

the consequences of smoking.

5. Some of them do not have

money to buy cigarettes.

In short, we suggest you not to even

start smoking because it is bad for

your health and for your life. Play

sport and do good things with your

life.

Soccer in our council

Fortunately, in the Megiddo council there are many kinds

of sports. One of them is soccer. Many teenagers practice

soccer in their free time. Some of the boys play soccer in

Hapoel Ramot Menashe Megiddo. The teenagers learn to

play soccer but they also learn to play together and to

respect each other.

over 124:116 to Atlanta. Many

people thought that that would be the

final of the NBA. It was an amazing

match; Jeff Teague was the star with

23 points and divided assists.

Stephan Carry from the other side

scored 26 points and divided 11

assists, double-double. Another great

game was the game in New Orleans,

the match: New Orleans Pelicans

against Oklahoma City Thunder, the

match over 116:113 to the Pelicans,

but there was a lot of drama, OKC

{25:27} led in the Q3 on 10 points

but the Pelicans won. 1.2 seconds

were left and Anthony Davis, the

star of the game who never had a

three points’ basket, and in the first

time in his life he scored and won

the game. These points gave to him a

total of 41 points, career high and

gave the team 116:113 win! On the

other side, Russell Westbrook scored

46 points and divides 11 assists but

the double-double did not help him

and his team, they lost 116:113 to

the Pelicans {27:28}.

The All-Star game by Tomer Chiel

With the league packed with stars, the competition to who gets

selected to play in the All-Star game at its highest, everyone

predicted that the main game will be a thriller, and so it was.

The starting 5 for the west: Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson

(originally Kobe Bryant) James Harden (Anthony Davis) Mark Gasol

and LaMarcus Aldridge (Blake Griffin)

Starting 5 for the east: John Wall, Kyle Lowry, Lebron James, Pau

Gasol, and Carmelo Anthony.

With one of the best All-Star games of the history of the league, the

arena has sold out.

The players played at their best, preforming alley-oops and

spectacular dunks.

The All-Star game is for the fans, so the players don’t play a lot of

defense, they let the game flow, that’s why In All-Star games, the

final score is always high, but this year the record was broken, the

west won 163-158, a new NBA record!

With Russel Westbrook of the Oklahoma City Thunders, leading the

way for the west, with 41 points. That’s the second highest scoring

performance in the All-Star game of all time.

One of the stories coming into the game was the matchup of the

Gasol Brothers.

Pau and Mark are two Spanish brothers that play in the NBA, they

have played each other in a regular league in the All-Star.

All in all a wonderful All-Star weekend!

The Super Bowl is the championship

game of American football. It takes

place every year it is super popular but

costs a lot of money to watch live.

At the beginning of the American

Football there were 2 leagues: NFL and

AFL and every league had its own

champion and there was rivalry between

the leagues.

The two leagues decided that every

league will send its champion to the

final game. Then, in one of the

management meetings, the founder of

the AFL offered to call it 'The Super

Bowl' because his kid had a game called

Super Bowl and everyone agreed. This

year, the 'New England Patriots' played

against the 'Seattle Seahawks'. After a

great game the New England Patriots

won 28-24.The team that won the most

Super Bowls is the 'Pittsburgh Steelers'

with 6 Super Bowls. In second place are

the Dallas Cowboys and San Francisco

49ers with 5 Super Bowls. The third

place belongs to the Green Bay Packers,

New York Giants and New England

Patriots with 4 Super Bowls at the

all-time Competition.

The Iron Man Race takes place every year all over the world.

The first Iron Man race occurred in 1977.

The Iron Man race is limited to 17 hours

Iron Man Race includes:

3.86 km swimming, 180.25 km riding a bicycle and 42.195 km

running (marathon).

Here are some of the records achieved in it:

The fastest woman’s time is 8:52:14 hours and belongs to Marinda

Karpera from Australia. The shortest time a man achieved was

8:03:56, and belongs to Kreig Alecsander from Australia as well.

Israelis who participated in the race are:

Nina Pakerman, who reached the 26th

place with total time of 9:55:19

hours.

Gilad Rotem reached 7th

place with total time of 8:20 hours.

This race is special because it includes 3 different sport activities

which people can combine into a fun and healthy experience.

This is an interview with the Israeli swimmer Eli Cohen (pronounced E-lie), Eli recently competed in the

Israeli swimming championship for kids his age (14) and has won 3 gold medals and 1 silver!

From a young age my mother wanted me to know how to swim. Not for professional swimming, but for safety

purposes. After a couple of lessons, the coach said I have talent and potential, so he gave me a number for a

professional coach and that was that.

? Did you like it right from the beginning?professional swimming experienceWhere did you begin your

I started swimming in Tivon, and I didn’t practice too much. But slowly the number of practices increased. At

first, I didn’t like it but my mom told me it was good, and over time I learned to like it.

When was your first completion? How did it go?

My first completion was in "Beit Eyal". My parents had to drag me over there because I was really nervous

and I didn’t want to compete. I was good only in 50m butterfly style, and won 2nd

place.

Who was your first coach?

My first coach was a tough Brazilian named Paulo. I liked him very much. He gave me the support I needed,

and he made me reach higher levels.

My ranking in 100m Butterfly, 200m and 400m Individual Medley (a swimming style combination) is 1st in

Israel at my age (14). It requires a lot of determination, focus and of course passion. My ranking does influence

my performance, because there is a lot of pressure on me to keep my ranking.

What is your favorite swimming style? And what is the style that you are specialized in?

My favorite style is Butterfly and I specialize in every style and that’s why I succeed in Individual swimming.

Do you have a swimmer idol?

I always try to get better, so I try to learn from everybody.

game in the 11th. The first half, after the minute 11 passed quietly. The second half time was all of Harry

Kane, the young striker who scored twice in 30 minutes. When he scored in the last 5 minutes, he took three

points in the White Hart Lane for Tottenham.

That was a great game in the "Vicente Calderon". Atletico came very determined and aggressive and they

profited from it. Tiago scored in minute 14 and Atletico led 1-0. In minute 18 there was an amazing moment

when Saul, the Defend Midfielder did a bicycle kick on the post and in. Only 18 minutes from the opening and

Atletico led 2-0. After the minute 18, the first half passed nervously from the white side. The second half time

opened with a storm. Amazing team work from the red side ended with a great finish by Atoine Griezman. In

the minute 87 came the stamp, Mario Mandzukic scored a good header and Atletico won 4-0.

Zaguri Empire- TV Series Review

For a long time now people that

live in Israel are hooked on a

television show.

If you did not guess it by now the

show is called “ZAGURI

IMPERIA”.

Also known as the show that had

all the stereotypes that you can

think of, but in a good way. The

show is funny, dramatic and has

some very catchy sayings. One of

them is the “hak” which means

„you are in my book‟. Some people

see it as an insult, and some people

see it as a funny way to talk to one

another.

One more thing that is important

to mention is that the show is

based on some real life events and

has a big part in the average

consumer‟s television.

I recommend it to all the people

that are looking for a good laugh

and have a computer or hot

television.

PlayStation 4 VS Xbox ONE by Yuval Steuer

This is a review of the PS4 and the Xbox ONE. This article is based

around facts and our opinions. – Reviews Section.

The Xbox ONE was released on November 22 2013. It weighs

7.05LBS, it is big and clumsy. It is also 2 inches wider than the PS4

and around an inch higher.

The PS4 released on November 15 2013, has a cool futuristic look, it

is compact, and weights 6.1LBS. The PS4 has better graphics than

the Xbox ONE, and also has a bigger fan base.

Some disadvantages of Both Game Devices:

The PS4

1. It is more expensive than the Xbox ONE.

2. It comes with a terrible headset.

The Xbox ONE is cheaper than the PS4, has a great motion sensor

(kinekt) and is much more user-friendly.

Xbox ONE

1. The Xbox ONE is really big.

2. It is also very heavy.

3. The Xbox ONE has way fewer game servers than the PS4 does.

In my opinion, the PS4 is way more superior than the Xbox ONE.

You can’t beat the graphics, the size is perfect, and the unique design

of the PS4 (you just can’t beat it). When you choose your game style,

choose PS4!

Action and Drama

Scandal-

Olivia pope (Kerry Washington) Left the Public Speaking department in the White House in order to build her own

company of privet investigators. Her departure was accompanied with many difficulties. For example, her affair with USA

president was a major obstacle. The Actors and the series won 7 awards -from 2013 till today.

If you want to watch something interesting, clever, and surprising with a great actress and a great script, this is for you.

Highly recommended! (The writer of the show also wrote the script for How to get away with Murder and Grey's

Anatomy).

Castle- Richard Castle is a famous mystery writer who has "roadblock" (a feeling of not being able to write), was taken

in, to an investigation by the NYPD. The department, headed by Detective Kate Beckett investigates a murder that is

based on one of his books. After the investigation, he used his connections to stay close to Beckett and serve as a police

consultant. He uses Beckett as his inspiration for his next book, Beckett reservations about him being a work partner at

the beginning fade as the show goas on. Finally she sees him as a full partner for everything at the crime scene (we won't

add a spoiler but there is a romance coming on….) Actors and the series won 4 awards from 2012 till today and is

considered to be TV crime series favorite.

Very interesting, suspenseful, smart, funny, romantic and very recommended if you like police shows!

How To Get Away With Murder- New legal voltage drama: Annalise Keating is a brilliant professor of criminal acts

which represents the country's worst hitters and will do anything to prove their innocence.

She offers students from a law school to become her interns in her law firm. This is a great chance for those students to

succeed in life. Those interns commit a terrible murder and must apply what they have learnt in real life in order to get

away from murder. One of the most successful series in America came to Israel. Clever, interesting, suspenseful, must-

see! (Written by the same writer of Scandal and Grey's Anatomy).

A Good Review of a Bad Game by Oz Pardo

Sonic the hedgehog is SEGA's mascot and biggest franchise. With over than 16 main series games and dozens of spin offs, this

hedgehog is still going strong.

At least until this game came along.

Sonic boom: rise of lyric is a part of the new spin off series that runs in parallel with the main series and also includes : redesigns, a

TV show, comics, toys and of course video games.

It is also the last game of the trilogy of sonic games released exclusively for Nintendo consoles instead of multiplatform (sonic lost

world being the 1st and Mario & sonic at the Sochi 2014 Olympic winter games being the 2nd

).

Plot: Rise of Lyric follows Sonic the Hedgehog and his friends Miles "Tails" Power, Knuckles the Echidna and Amy Rose, as they

battle the evil Dr. Eggman. The group arrives on an island and encounters an ancient tomb sealed deep within. There, they come

across a powerful snake-like villain from a race called the Ancients, named Lyric.

Gameplay: Sonic Boom is an action-adventure game with a stronger emphasis on exploration and combat compared to

previous Sonic the Hedgehog installments, featuring four main characters that players control: Sonic, Tails, Knuckles,

and Amy. Each character has their own unique abilities and gameplay mechanics: Sonic can use his speed and homing

attacks, Tails can fly and use various gadgets, Knuckles can burrow underground and climb on walls, and Amy can use

her hammer to swing on poles. Each character also possesses a whip-like weapon called the Enerbeam, which allows

them to perform various actions such as hanging from speeding rails, removing enemy shields, and solving puzzles.

There is also a focus on collaboration, with player's switching control between multiple characters and using their

abilities to progress.

So, what's wrong with this game? You should ask yourself what's right with this game that's the short answer!

Right: The adventure section shows some small promise and there’s a good sense of scale to some levels.

Wrong: A terrible camera, awful controls, unspeakably dull combat, insipid level design, ugly character art, broken

graphics, serious bugs, and the terrible feeling that Sega hates both you the player and Sonic.

Verdict: Possibly the worst Sonic the Hedgehog game ever made, which, considering some of his previous lows (sonic

2006), is one of the harshest insults in gaming.

The Affair- This is an American series. The two main characters get flashbacks of a police investigation. They

are both married but have relations with each other without their partners knowing. Sexy and suspenseful.

Highly recommended!!

One of the best places to visit is Times Square in New York City. It’s an amazing place full of life. At night, there are some many lights on that you can’t tell it is night time.

You can see there a lot of billboards and you just have to take some photos in this beautiful Place. There are also huge shop centers to buy your fashion items of the season.

Local Food:

Hot dogs stands are very popular in New York and very

Tasty.

Dunkin' donuts is the most successful donuts shop in the USA.

Family Attractions:

Jumping from the North of the East Coast to the South, how about Universal Studios in Orlando Florida? This is a big family park designed for all ages. This place can be great fun for little kids and their parents.

Italy

Must See!

Italy is country that is full of ancient history. Many of the buildings are still standing, beautiful and tall. Along with the delicious food it is a perfect place to visit.

You can’t leave Italy without visiting the Coliseum in Rome. The place has become the symbol of the city and you can be very impressed by its size. The Coliseum is mostly outside. So you should bring a lot of water and a hat with you to survive the Mediterranean heat.

You can also visit in the Pantheon. It’s a marvelous building that used to be a court of law. This is a place that you shouldn't miss. The Pantheon is also called ‘The Gods’ Temple’.

Local Food:

In Italy it is recommended to eat every Italian food that you can think of. You must try the pasta, pizza, fish and especially the ice-cream (also called Gelato). We think that Italy has THE BEST food in Europe!

Family Attractions:

Rome is the center of Italy. If you move to the north you see the beautiful Italian Alp’s. A famous touristic place in that area is called Garda Lake. There are many hotels there, both romantic and for families. The scenery is green and sweet.

Not far from Lake Garda there is a big park called GardaLand. This park has crazy roller-coasters and they are very good but not all of them are appropriate for little children. But still, there are rides for kids and the ice-cream shops are delightful and the ice cream is not so expensive.

France-Paris

Must see!

Name of the place: Eiffel tower.

If you want to go up, you must preorder the tickets for the tower elevator. The line is huge, and you can stand there for 3 hours.

In the tower there is an option to climb up the stairs for free but, it's very exhausting.

The view is amazing and you can see all of Paris.

We recommend arriving during the evening for a romantic view and atmosphere.

Family attractions

Name: Disneyland, Paris.

In Disneyland you can see all the famous characters and go on special rides that make you feel like you are in

a Disney movie. The park is beautiful to walk around, and the atmosphere is super fun.

In the park they have a big Disney parade every evening. Be sure to come early so you can stand in the front

and look at the fireworks.

Local food

In Paris we recommended to eat croissant and baguette. France is known for its pastries and also cheeses.

Spain-Barcelona

Must see!

You should go to the "La Sagrada Familia"

Church. They started to build it 1883 and they

still are building it still today. We recommend

arriving at night time, because you can see the

reflection of the church inside the lake in front of

it.

Family Attractions:

The Camp Nou is a famous soccer stadium of Barcelona’s soccer team. It’s a very fancy stadium and we highly recommend to visit it.

Local Food:

If you are in Barcelona you can go to "Mercado de la Boquerón".

It’s a beautiful Market and you can find there a lot of special food, fruit, sea food and vegetables.

In the center of London lays the "London Eye".

You should preorder tickets, in order to save time and

money. There's a fabulous view through the windows

of this Ferris wheel.

wax museum.

There you can see a lot of famous people from the

London history, as well as of popular celebrities and

take photos with them.

Local Food:

London is the house of Fish’n’Chips.

Fish’n'Chips is a very tasty meal you can find in pubs

and restaurants. You should try it!

Recipe for Brownies by Aya Bar

On, Shoval Gershoni, Gali Erez and

Adi Badihi

Ingredients:

3/4 cup cocoa

200g butter

4 eggs

2 cups sugar

1 teaspoon vanilla

Pinch of salt

1.5 cups self-rising flour

* You can add walnuts

Preparation:

Heat butter over low heat

Cook with cocoa

Remove from heat and blend in one egg

Add flour, sugar, vanilla, salt, the

chocolate chips

* The chocolate chips Mix with a

tablespoon of flour

Grease and place the dough in the pan

Bake for approximately 30 minutes in

the oven on low / medium heat

Recipe for pancakes by Aya Bar On, Shoval Gershoni, Gali Erez and

Ingredients:

· 2 eggs

· Glass of milk

· 70 g butter, melted

· 2 teaspoons baking powder

· ¼ cup sugar

Preparation:

1. Pour flour, salt and baking powder into a bowl

2. In a separate bowl beat the eggs with melted butter and milk

3. Make a well flour mixture and pour in the butter

4. Stir with a whisk or fork until the mixture is uniform.

5. Grease the pan with butter or oil

6. Fry over medium heat until bubbles appear on the face of the pancake.

7. Make and fry the other side.

8. Repeat steps 6 + 7y till you finish the batter.

9. Put in your mouth and enjoy

A Maple Cake / Nitsan Almagor, Maayan Tal and Raz Ben Nachum

Ingredients:

1 cup of yogurt

3 eggs

1-1\4 cup self-rising flour

A cup of sugar

2 bags of vanilla sugar

1\2 cup of oil

1\4 teaspoon salt

Chopped nuts

Maple syrup

Preparation: Preheat the oven to 180 degrees. Mix up in the mixer

slowly - eggs, yogurt, sugar, vanilla sugar, salt and oil. Add the flour

and continue mixing until smooth with no lumps. Pour the mixture to 2

baking dishes, and scatter the nuts. Bake the cake 40 minutes until a

toothpick comes out dry. Afterwards, pour the maple over the cake.

Gnocchi

Ingredients:

3/4 pounds of potatoes

1 cup coarse salt

44 grams of soft butter

1 yolk

1/2 cup of flour

Instructions:

Preheat the oven to 180 degrees.

Scatter coarse salt on the template

and pot on the potatoes. Bake the

potatoes for about an hour to an hour

and a half until soft.

When the potatoes are ready remove

the pan from the oven, halve the

potatoes and drain them using a

spoon into the bowl.

Then mash the potatoes with a fork

until it becomes completely mash.

Add the yolk to the mashed potatoes

and add 40 grams of butter and mix.

Then add the flour and the salt and

mix again. Now that the dough is

ready, divide the dough into small

groups and roll them to "snakes" two

centimeters wide.

Boil water with a tablespoon of salt

in a large pot and then put in the

Gnocchi. When they float, wait 30

seconds, take them out, and put them

in the bowl with a little butter so

they will not stick.

Banana Pancakes

Ingredients:

2 cups of self-rising flour

1/4 teaspoon of baking powder

1 cup of milk

2 tablespoons of honey

45 g butter, melted

2 -3 bananas, very ripe, mashed

Instructions:

Sift flour and baking powder into a bowl.

Combine the remaining ingredients, add flour and mix until free of

lumps.

Heat frying pan with a little extra butter or oil.

When the pan is hot, spoon in desired amount of mixture.

When bubbles start to appear in the batter, flip over and cook the

other side.

Eat with more bananas sliced on top and drizzled with honey or with

fresh fruit, or a squeeze of lemon/lime and a sprinkle of sugar.

A short history of pizza

The ancient Greeks covered their bread

with oils, herbs and

cheese. The Romans developed placenta

cake, a sheet of dough topped with

cheese and honey and flavored with bay

leaves.

Modern pizza evolved from similar

flatbread dishes in Naples, Italy in the

18th or early 19th century. Prior to that

time, flatbread was often topped with

ingredients such as garlic, salt, lard,

cheese, and basil. It is uncertain when

tomatoes were first added and there are

many conflicting claims.

A popular contemporary legend holds

that the archetypal pizza, Pizza

Margherita, was invented in 1889, when

the Royal Palace of

Capodimonte commissioned the

Neapolitan pizzaiolo (pizza maker)

Raffaele Esposito to create a pizza in

honor of the visiting Queen Margherita.

Of the three different pizzas he created,

the Queen strongly preferred a pie

swathed in the colors of the Italian flag:

red (tomato), green (basil), and white

(mozzarella). Supposedly, this kind of

pizza was then named after the Queen as

"Pizza Margherita",

A recipe for Bolognese

500g ground beef

1 can of tomato paste

1 can of crushed tomatoes

2 carrots

1 onion

1 basil branch

The short history of Bolognese sauce

The earliest documented recipe for a meat-based sauce (ragù) served

with pasta comes from late 18th century Imola, near Bologna.

Pellegrino Artusi published a recipe for a meat sauce characterized as

being bolognese in his cookbook published in 1891.Artusi's recipe,

which he called Maccheroni alla bolognese, is thought to derive from

the mid-19th century when he spent considerable time in Bologna

(maccheroni being a generic term for pasta, both dried and fresh).

The recipe only partially resembles the ragù alla bolognese that is

traditionally associated with tagliatelle. The sauce called for

predominantly lean veal filet along with pancetta, butter, onion, and

carrot. The meats and vegetables were to be finely minced, cooked

with butter until the meats browned, then covered and cooked with

broth. Artusi commented that the taste could be made even more

pleasant by adding small pieces of dried mushroom, a few slices of

truffle, or chicken liver cooked with the meat and diced. As a final

touch, he also suggested adding half a glass of cream to the sauce

when it was completely done to make it taste even smoother. Artusi

recommended serving this sauce with medium size pasta ("horse

teeth") made from durum wheat. The pasta was to be made fresh,

cooked until it was firm, and then flavored with the sauce and

Parmigiano cheese.

What you ask? Well, let’s see.

Borax: Banned in the US Canada. As a food

flavor it adds a rubbery texture to food. Borax

is also known for making its way into fire-

delaying products.

Sodium Benzoate: This is a mixture of

sodium and food dyes which as linked to

hyperactive behavior. So if you’re feeling

jumpy check if you had some of this in your

food.

Carmine: Carmine is a red food coloring that

comes from the Cochineal Bugs. Yes! You

also eat bugs.

These are only some of the things we put in

our body when we eat. We haven’t even

mentioned the effects of Caffeine and more to

your body. Eat healthy, watch what you eat!
