Ysleta ISD Online Student Enrollment 2017–2018

These instructions are for parents that will be enrolling their students in Pre-kinder for the 2017–2018 school year in Ysleta ISD. Only Pre-Kinder students that are new to the district need to be enrolled online. If your child attended a Ysleta campus last year, he or she might already be enrolled. Please contact your chosen campus to verify.

Online PreKinder Enrollment Before enrolling your child, you will need to create an account in the online enrollment system for Ysleta. To create the account you will need an email address.

If you do not have an email address, please create one before proceeding.

If you are not sure or need help creating an email address, please download the instructions we have created to help you create a free Gmail address. The instructions are available on this online enrollment page.

Requirements To create an enrollment account and to register a child, you will need a computer with Internet connection. We recommend using a computer with one of the following Internet browsers.• Internet Explorer • Firefox • Chrome • Microsoft Edge

*The Safari browser on Mac computers is not fully supported.

If you do not have a computer or a computer with Internet access please go to the campus you have chosen for your child. The campus has several computers with Internet access and you can use one of those computers to enroll your child. We do not have a computer you can take home but you are very welcome to fill out the enrollment form at the campus. There are plenty of people at the campus that will be very happy to help with any questions.

Online enrollment site To access the online enrollment site, please go to the Ysleta ISD home page at

http://www.yisd.net.

Move your mouse pointer over the menu icon to the right of the "EXPLORE YISD" title.

Move your mouse pointer over to the Parents menu option.

Click the "Online Registration" link.

When the enrollment page opens, scroll down to the bottom of the page.

Click on the "PreKinder Registration Site" link.

Register a new account You will need to create an account with the online enrollment system before enrolling a child. There is a language selector above the parent login ID box. Use this language selector to choose the language that will be used to create the account. I will continue without choosing a language. English is automatically chosen if you do not choose Spanish.

Click the "Register New Account" link.

On the new account page, you will need to provide all the information marked with a red asterisk. Begin by selecting your preferred language. This language will be used to send you district information. Provide your first name and last name in the appropriate boxes. provide your phone number and make sure to include the area code. The phone number field cannot accept international numbers with the international prefix.

Do not put spaces between the numbers and the parenthesis are optional in the phone number.

This is an example of what the information might look like.

The "Login Information" section is where you will create an account for yourself to enroll a child with Ysleta. The first field is asking for a "Parent Login ID". This is an ID you choose. We recommend using the same name used in your email address so you don't have to remember another login ID. For example, if your email address is [email protected], then we recommend you use lorenzo121 for the parent login ID. You could also use [email protected] if it’s not too long.

Using a process like this helps assure that the account name isn't already taken.

The parent login ID must be 20 characters or less.

Provide a parent login ID, confirm your parent login ID by typing it again, and enter your email address. Create a password for the account.

In the address section please provide the required information. There is a special box that requests the House Number. This is the address number to your house, NOT the phone number to your house.

Notice the house number in this example. The address is "1223 Jupiter-Saturn Mars Drive" but only the number part of the street is placed in the house number field.

Click the Submit button to create your account.

New student information After clicking the submit button the account will be created and you will be taken to the enrollment page. You will also receive an email confirmation that the account has been created. Click the "New Form" button to enroll your child.

You will need several pieces of information to enroll your child. You will need contact information for friends or family in case of emergency. Please make sure you have this information handy. The enrollment form is a little long.

You can always save the information entered and return again later to finish the form. We encourage you to finish the form in one sitting to make sure your child is enrolled as soon as possible.

The campus you have chosen for your child can help provide resources and information if needed.

Session Warning The enrollment process can take some time because there are lots of steps. During the enrollment process, you might get a message about you session expiring. Click the "Keep session open" button to keep working.

A form to create a new student enrollment will open. click the Go button,

The form will request a lot of information. All the information marked with a red asterisk needs to be provided. These instructions will walk you through some of the important steps and answer some questions about the form.

The first piece of information asks the year your child will be attending school. You must mark 2017–2018.

!

Select Pre-Kindergarten for the grade your child will be attending. We are only enrolling Pre-Kindergarten in the first year of online enrollment. Fill in the rest of the information with your child's name and gender.

To enter your child's birthdate you can use the calendar selector or enter the date manually.

!

The birth date should look something like this example.

You will be asked to provide your child's social security number. If you do not have that information yet, it can be skipped because it is not a required field. You can provide this information later to the campus. Updates and changes after enrollment need to be made at your child's campus. The form cannot be edited after the last process when you submit.

After selecting the Race information, select the language usually spoken at home and the language for correspondence. This is the language for information that will be sent to you from the district. This information can include messages, letters, announcements, or any other district information.

Place a check mark on the use language for mailing to make sure any mail sent to you is also sent in this language.

The Hispanic/latino race information can be marked yes or no or marked unanswered

Click the save button to save the information we just provided.

The form is very long and you might not have a big computer screen. Click the hide section button to hide the first section of information. The information is saved and we won't need to go back to this section.

Address and phone information Click on the show section button to show the address and phone section.

!

Most of the information in this section is already filled in with the information from the account you created. Please make sure the information is correct and complete.

!

The mailing address can be the same one used when the account was created or it can be a different address. If the mailing address is going to be different, remove the check mark and enter a mailing address.

!

When the account was created we asked for one phone number. In this section, there is an option to add other phone numbers. Please click the "Add Phone" button to provide additional phone numbers where we may contact you if necessary.

When adding or updating your phone information please make sure to let us know the type kind of phone you own. Most of the time the phone will be Cellular if you have a smartphone.

Click the save button to save the information in this section.

Contact Information Hide the address and phone section. Open the "Contact Information" section.

!

Please provide at least three(3) emergency contacts. Click the "Add Contact" button.

!

Let us know if this person is a guardian or an emergency contact.

!

Provide the contact's first and last name. These are the only required pieces of information. Let us know the relationship of any guardians and the language he or she speaks.

Click the Save button to save this contact information.

!

Click the "Add Contact" button to add more emergency contacts.

Building Information Open the "Building Information" section.

Click the pull-down menu and select the school you want your child to attend.

Additional Information Hide the contact information section and open the "Additional Information" section.

!

This is going to be the longest section. Not all the information is required but please try to fill in as much of the information as you can. This is the last section of information you will need to complete. If you cannot finish the section now, remember to click the save button. You can return to the form later and finish without having to start over.

After completing this section you still need to Agree and Submit the form to finish enrolling your child.

Make sure to enter the age of your child when he or she will begin school on September 1 of 2017.

!

The last four pieces of information in the form relates to release for photos, video and other items. There are links to documents at the bottom of the form which provide information about these requests for consent. Please refer to them if needed before going to the final step. You can return to answer these questions later if you want to read through the documents. Make sure to click the save button to save any information entered in this section. The campus can help answer any questions.

Agree and Submit This is the final step. After selecting the agree option and clicking the Submit button your child will be enrolled. You will not be able to go back and make any changes. Any changes need to be done at the campus you chose in the enrollment.

If there is important information missing, you will get a message informing you what is missing and where to go to complete the information. In this example, the missing information is in the Student Information Section for Ethnicity. The message reads Tab but it is actually referring to a section. Go to that section and provide the information. Click the Save button in the section when you are done providing the needed information.

After submitting the enrollment you will not be able to make any changes. If there are changes that need to be made they will need to be made at the campus where your child is being enrolled.

Return to the agree and submit area to select I agree and click the submit button again.

Your child's name will appear under Saved Forms when the enrollment is complete and successful.

Enrolling a twin? If you have twins, the process is much easier for the second child. Click the "New Form" button.

Select the option to copy basic information from the other child. Click the Go button to continue.

!

Provide this child's name, gender, birth date and other information. The information provided under the other child will be in the different sections. Please review the information in each section to make sure it is correct. Select I Agree and click the Submit button.
