Objective: To study the use of MOOCs for professional development in master students of the University of Costa Rica and the University of Kansas. Report: The Report will be presented while using a Power Point presentation, and the creation of a Wiki. Instructional Approach In order to success in the online collaborative project, there are three aspects that we would like to mention and that should be number one rule to succeed. First, distance can’t be your enemy; second, every participant should have a role; and third, feedback is always welcome. First, distance cannot be your enemy. It is important to understand that the distance between the researches that are participating in this collaborative project can be challenging. Therefore, the use of technology tools becomes a main ally to success. All the members must be committed to develop this project in a very responsible way, and to participate in chats or email conversations, to keep the update of the research. Second, every participant should have a role. We believe this is vital in order to accomplish the main purposes of the group. Of course in a very diverse group, we find lots of bright people. However, they can’t rely on a single person, or pretend every one is going to work in a single task at the same time. Trust us, all the process will be totally slow if you as a team group decided to focus on a single task at the same time. It is better to agree in the creation of roles, according to each other’s interests, and to do the best job you can while performing the role assigned. In this aspect, it is important to mention the importance of establishing deadlines. Third, feedback is always welcome. There is one type of feedback, we would like to call and it is the teammates. It is fundamental to create an environment, where feedback from research members is totally welcome. The whole team must listen to each other’s opinions and generate agreements. In this way, the whole product can be approved.
