ABOUT

One of the most frequently visited pages on your site

Tell your story…without focusing so much on you.

Write in the first person—no stuffy third person resume style!

Let your ideal audience know they belong there.

Get clear on the “why” behind your business.

Pictures of you are good. Level of professionalism in the pictures is dependent on your business and the amount of familiarity you want to create with your audience.

Include a bio that can be used for any features done on you

START HERE

When a visitor first lands on your site, what do you want them to do?

Give a short version of your About page and include a link to “learn more here.”

List some of your most popular blog posts

If you have a Facebook group, let them know! If they like what you’re about, they’ll want to connect with others who think like them.

End with a Call To Action so they’re not left saying “Now what?”

WORK WITH ME

Your service (not product) offerings

Not uncommon to ask the prospective client what they need before directing them to an appropriate service (a pre-sales page). Terrific example from

PRODUCTS/SHOP

If you provide tangible products or information products, make sure to have a page separate from your services to display them.

Visual appeal is key for physical products; use a good camera or at least create a good lighting environment for your smartphone pictures.

Even for info products, a good “cover image” is important. Rebecca Tracey does a great

job with thiswww.theuncagedlife.com

CONTACT AND SOCIAL MEDIA

Two options: Contact Form or Email Address

Contact form can typically help you avoid spam email arriving in your inbox

Many people prefer to use their own email client to contact you; they also have a copy of the message they sent you this way.

Personal phone number is highly discouraged; set up a Google Voice number.

Most Wordpress themes have a section in which you can add social media links to your header or footer, but the contact page can also have those links.
