Cindy Klatt, three elders, and I met recently with representatives of Maverick

Engineering, the firm preparing a parking plan for west side and east side parking.

As soon as a satisfactory plan is prepared it will be presented for approval from the

City of Midland. Once approved, we can begin work on this aspect of renovations.

Recently Jeff Smith and I did a walk-through inventory of the Main

Street building with a view toward determining what things there

might be used at by the Downtown congregation. We went ahead

and brought two chairs that are now in our foyer and a table now

beside the double doors at the front of the auditorium. These chairs

go very nicely with the couch donated a few months ago by the

Bartletts.

Playground equipment and fencing is arriving!. This means that we

can begin to move forward with plans to install the new play area for

children that will be located on the east side of the building between

the entrance to the foyer and the porch entry to the front of the

auditorium. Funding for this project is mostly coming from the Main

Street building fund along with a memorial donation honoring Jean

Akins.

Terry and Barbara Boswell, who have planted a congregation of the Church of

Christ in Chapala, Jalisco, Mexico, report that they have had fifteen baptisms

this year, which has doubled the size of this young congregation. Our brethren

at the Cherry Lane congregation have assisted this congregation in Mexico by

sending them Bibles and hymnals. The Boswells were recently visiting Midland,

and contacted me to see if we possibly had surplus communion trays that we

sell to them. Our elders agreed to donate to these brethren whatever they need

from the communion trays that had been used by the Main Street congregation.
