WHO WE ARE

• We are a group of students from Stanton College Prep dedicated to increasing environmental awareness.

• We actively volunteer in our community as part of the COAST Club, and in our opinion, leaders are not born, they are made. We are the next generation, shaped by the world— and we will be the ones shaping it too.

• There is no shortage of creativity here, because we are always on the lookout for new and innovative ways with which we can spread our message.

• All of these qualities, in addition to our contagious passion, make us the perfect people for this project. Together, let’s make a difference!

THE VISION

• Last summer, I travelled to Costa Rica on a service trip with the Kids’ FUN Youth Ambassadors program. I was exposed to wonderful creativity in the form of recycle bins composed entirely out of plastic water bottles!

They caught my eye as I was walking down the street one day!

THE MISSION

• My mission to bring this innovation to Jacksonville is a subset of a

larger vision to create a public more aware of environmental

conservation and their own plastic consumption. I wish to create

these recycle bins and place them around town; the water bottles

discarded in them would then be collected and used to make more

recycle bins, creating a self-replicating cycle. Eventually, I hope to

return to Costa Rica and encourage them to do the same.

• Enough of opaque trash cans where you can throw your trash away

and never have to face it again! It is time to be TRANSPARENT.

WHAT WE NEED

• In order for this project to be a success, we will not only need

guidance and public support, but funding as well. The funding would

be used for the maintenance of the recycle bins and the collection of

bottles on a consistent basis so we can make new ones.

• It would also be used to fund our trips back to Costa Rica as Youth

Ambassadors so we can carry out our last step: creating

environmental awareness in beautiful Costa Rica by building these

recycle bins and setting them up there (first in Uvita).

• There are undoubtedly going to be unforeseen challenges, but with

the right guidance, I’m sure we can overcome any obstacles!

ONESPARK

• This is going to be our first year at OneSpark and we are very

excited to be attending this event. We look forward to not only the

opportunity to showcase our idea and get our message out, but also

meet and network with the myriad of other innovators and Creators

showcasing their projects!

• It is so wonderful to be a part of the thriving creative community we

have in Jacksonville, and we are sure that we will be both teaching

and learning new things while we are there.

Spark On!
