THE WALL STREET ENGLISH METHOD

The key to our success is our unique Blended Learning Method. This method combines different educational tools into one unique study cycle, allowing students to learn the language in a more natural way. We put the student at the center of the learning experience, unlike more traditional schools where instruction is centered on the teacher.

Our method offers multi-media self-study, student workbooks, small native speaking teacher-led classes, and plenty of time to practice in a warm, open environment with other people all on the same path to learn English.

We offer twenty levels of English courses ranging from complete beginner to advanced, including three levels devoted to using English in Professional situations. Students start their course after taking an initial assessment test and typically study with us for 15–18 months.

OUR CENTER EXPERIENCE

The Wall Street English Center, or school, is the physical hub of the student experience.

Our Centers are designed to make students feel welcome, to give them places to study on their own or in groups, and to have space for fun social events. Because we offer a near-immersion experience, only English is spoken in our Centers (an exception being that the sales process to new clients is carried out in the local language).

Our Center design includes modern fi xtures, glass walls creating a feeling of openness and space, and large areas with comfortable seating for students to study and meet with friends.

The typical Wall Street English Center is 250–500 square meters in size and should be located in high-traffi c pedestrian areas or near transportation hubs. Good locations include business and commercial districts, city centers, shopping malls, or near subway stations.

Choosing the right location is crucial for Center success, as your location should be convenient for your prospects and students to drop in.

BECOMING A PARTNERWhile Wall Street English has typically established relationships with HNW individuals, the company has also franchised with companies and equity funds. Factors to consider to become a franchise partner include:

CapitalizationThe individual or entity should have minimum capital available for investment in the region of USD one million. While only USD 500,000 to USD 700,000 of this capital will be required for launching the Pilot Center (including the initial fee to WSE International and initial marketing spend), additional available capital is required to assure that growth potential is not hindered.

Business acumenThe individual or entity should have suffi cient general business experience to provide the hands-on leadership required at launch and to be able to transition to general management and strategic leadership as the business grows. Strong preference is given to individuals with consumer retail, for-profi t education or service industry experience.

Local market knowledge and relationshipsThe individual or entity should have extensive experience operating in the local market. In particular, local knowledge regarding recruiting and employment, student acquisition/marketing, regulatory nuances and retail real estate are important considerations. Additionally, knowledge of local business practices and how to operate in consideration of these is an important factor.

RELATIONSHIP TERMS

Key relationship considerations include:• Royalty – seven percent of gross sales• Initial Development fee: from USD 120,000• Standard didactic material purchase requirements – typically

four to five percent of gross sales• Expansion options based upon primary market performance

Development processInterested parties are required to sign an initial Reservation Agreement, provide qualification information and post a USD 60,000 deposit, which is ultimately credited against the Center fee. At this point the prospective franchisee undertakes a specific market study guided by WSE International staff and visits one or more existing Wall Street English Centers.

Parallel efforts are undertaken to negotiate the franchise rights and associated agreements as well as to investigate locations for the Pilot Center.

The Wall Street English Development Manual guides site selection and construction. Upon completion of the market research analysis, site selection and franchise agreements, Pilot Center development is undertaken with support from the WSE International Development Department.

Staff recruiting, training and initial market launch are coordinated with the support of WSE International. WSE International staff is on hand for the Pilot Center opening. Ongoing support is provided directly by the International Franchise Department.
