About University Babasaheb Bhimrao Ambedkar University was established in Lucknow in 1996 as Central University with the objects of promoting advance knowledge by instructional and research facilities in science, key and frontier areas of technology and other allied disciplines. This University is the Post-Graduate and Research promoting University. The main objective of this University is to promote professional studies, inter-disciplinary studies and research & development activities. With these objectives, the University has started its academic programmes which have employment potential and relevant for the development of Indian society. At present, University has eight functional Schools compromising of more than forty functional Departments. About Department of Information Technology Department of Information Technology (DIT) is one of the active Departments in the School for Information Science and Technology. The Department has established in 2007 with the aim of promoting the modern area of Information Technology to highest level of Excellence and to conduct and encourage research in all area of Information Technology and Computer Science. Applications and developed knowledge and skills to the student through teaching, training and research in the field of Information Technology. One Week Workshop on Ethical Hacking & Information Security Ethical hacking is an important tool in many national security agencies and evencompanies. An Ethical Hacker is usually employed with the organization and can be trusted to undertake an attempt to penetrate networks and/or computer systems using the same methods as a Hacker. The goal of the ethical hacker is to help the organization take pre‐ emptive measures against malicious attacks by attacking the system himself; all the while staying within legal limits. In order to become an Ethical Hacker or Security Expert, one must think out of the box with the mentality that in order to catch a thief. This workshop is specifically designed to provide the right knowledge to the aspiring Hacking and Cyber Security enthusiasts. This workshop will explore the various means that an intruder has available to gain access to computer resources. It will investigate weaknesses by discussing the theoretical background behind, and whenever possible, actually performing the attack. Important Date: Last Date of Registration with fees : 16 June, 2015

Accommodation: The participants are requested to submit their application in advance to the organising Participant's. Accommodation will be provided in the University guest house/hostels on first come first serve. Accommodation charges are not included in the registration fees.
