The Emerging Pandemic Threats (EPT) program strengthens capacities in

developing countries to prevent, detect, and control infectious diseases in animals

and people with an emphasis on early identification of, and response to, dangerous

pathogens from animals before they can become significant threats to human

health.

ONE HEALTH is the collaborative effort of multiple disciplines -

working locally, nationally, and globally to attain

optimal health for people, animals and the

environment.

GOVERMENTS

Thailand's National Strategy for Preparation, Prevention, Intervention

of emerging communicable diseases B.E. 2556-2559 (2013-2016)

comprises of 5 strategies, 25 tactical plans, 140 measures as

follows:-

1) Strategy for development of surveillance, prevention,

treatment, and disease control under the One Health

concept, comprises of 5 tactical plans, 41 measures.

Board member of Thai One Health Network

Dr. Saengduen Moonsom has been appointed as Work Team

A public health workforce includes physicians, veterinarians, biostatisticians, laboratory scientists, farming/livestock professionals, and epidemiologist.

CORE COMPETENCY: a measurable knowledge,

skill, behavior or attitude that (most) every member

of a One Health team must have for prevention,

surveillance, or response.

COMPETENCY DOMAIN: a set of competencies

(derived from - key characteristics) that are

grouped together in a logical category

SEAOHUN ONE HEALTH SHORT COURSES 15 Modules

OHCCs of the current workforces (in collaboration with P&R) will be

identified in Year 2016.

Integration process of the missing competencies into existing courses has been

designed. OH short courses have been developed as models for demonstration of

OHCC-based course development. Some of THOHUN’s members have been

The THOHUN TRAINERS had been trained in the prototype of the course

curriculum; the layout of SEAOHUN regional course modules; an overview of

module content; and innovative ways to integrate and teach the materials and

innovative ways to integrate and teach the materials in existing curricula from One

Health Course Development team of RESPOND.
