Little about One Direction

One Direction are a British-Irish boy band consisting of members Niall Horan, Zayn Malik, Liam Payne, Harry Styles and Louis Tomlinson. They finished third on the seventh series of The X Factor, Following The X Factor, the group signed a record contract with Syco.

Niall Horan

Niall Horan was born in September 13, year 1993. He is from Mullingar,Westmeath, Ireland.A student at Colaiste Mhuire, Mullingar.

Zayn Malik

Zayn Malik was born on January 12,year 1993 He is from West Lane Baildon, Bradford, England a student at Tong High School. He is of Pakistani descent.

Liam Payne

Liam Payne was born in August 29, year 1993. He is from Wolverhampton, West Midlands, England, a music technology student at City of Wolverhampton College.

Harry Styles

Harry Styles was born in February 1, year 1994. He is from Holmes Chapel, Cheshire, England, a student at Holmes Chapel Comprehensive School. Styles was the lead singer for the band White Eskimo.

Louis Tomlinson

Louis Tomlinson was born in December 24, year 1991. He is from Doncaster, South Yorkshire, England, was a student at Hall Cross School.

The X Factor

Horan, Malik, Payne, Styles and Tomlinson all applied as solo candidates to the competition, but failed to qualify for the "Boys" category. After suggestion the five teens were put into a band. One Direction finished third .Immediately after the series finished, their song “Forever Young “ was leaked onto the internet.

Up All NightFollowing The X Factor, the group signed

a £2 million record contract with Scyo. One Direction and nine other contestants from the real participated in the X Factor Live Tour from February–April 2011. They developed their debut album and released their debut single ”What Makes You Beautiful”. It entered the UK singles chart at #1. The band is set to release their second single, “Gotta Be You“. The single is followed by their debut studio album, Up All Night.

BooksThe first One Direction-licensed

book, One Direction: Forever Young (Our Official X Factor Story), was released on February 17, 2011. The book reached the number one spot on the Sunday Times Bestseller list. One Direction: The Official Annual 2012, was published on September 1, 2011.On September 15, 2011, One Direction released Dare to Dream: Life as One Direction. Dare to Dream was also able to secure the top spot on the Sunday Times Non Fiction Hardback Bestseller list.

Commercial endorsements

One Direction became the brand ambassadors for Pokemon Black and White in April 2011. The band also launched limited edition Nokia C2-02 and Nokia C3-00 phones.
