The celebrations were held on 31 August, 2017 and began with lighting the traditional lamp by Dr. Geo Fernandez, Dean of AIM. The students put together a beautiful 'Pookalam' and the cultural programmes held in the seminar hall included Onam Onam @ AIM songs, Thiruvathirakkali, and songs by faculty and students. The competition for Malayali Manga and Malayali Sreeman was highly competitive and Ms. Livya Maria Wilson and Mr. Seyyid Faiz were crowned as Malayali Manga and Malayali Sreeman respectively. The tug-of war competition held was won by the IInd year boys and girls. The programme ended with a sumptuous Sadhya that was relished by all. YES Summit Attended T he third edition of Young Entrepreneurship Summit was held on 12 September 2017 at Le Meridien Hotel Cochin. The Summit was titled "YES-3D" wherein the theme was 'Disrupt, Discover and Develop' (Disrupting an existing process, Discover an alternate technology, Develop better product/service). Eminent personalities like Shri Nagaraj Prakasham, Partner Acumen Fund and Shri Arokiaswamy Velumani, MD Thyrocare Technologies Ltd addressed the audience. The summit also included interactions with experts from other industries like Agri Food Processing, Sustainable Technologies, Start up India Schemes, Biomedical Engineering and Future Technologies. An expo was also arranged wherein the new startup ideas were exhibited. The programme was attended by a selected group of students from AIM and St. Albert's College accompanied by Dr. Shiny C. M., Asst. Professor, AIM. Kudos to Albertians T he Semester III students of AIM secured the second position in the event 'Finance Game' of the National Management Fest conducted by St. Berchmans College, Changanassery on 20 and 21 September, 2017. The winning team comprised of Ms. Sherin Ann Thomas, Ms. Monisha Alexander, Ms. Ratnamma R. and Ms. Susmitha P.G. Marian College Kuttikanam conducted a National Management Fest on 22 and 23 September, 2017 and our students secured second position in the event 'Business Plan'. The students included Ms. Maria Rose Agnes, Ms. Nayana Vinod, Mr.Akash Jacob and Mr. Blesson Babu. T he Branding/Marketing heads/in-charge of OPPO India of different regions in India, Ms. Lynn, Ms. Jane and Ms. Charu Sharma visited the campus on 29 August 2017 to interact with the students of MBA. The delegates discussed the new marketing trends with the students and also answered the different queries raised by the students. Industrial Visit by Sem. I students T he Sem. I students of MBA visited Kitex Ltd Kizhakambalam on 23 September 2017 along with Ms. Sangeetha J. and Nidhin Johny, faculty members, AIM. They also visited Anna Aluminium Company where detailed information about the production and manufacturing process of aluminium products were explained by the company representatives. The Industrial Visit was an enriching experience for the students.

Pioneer Buildup Camp Conducted

A team from Albertian Institute of Mangement gotan opportunity to lead the Pioneer build Up (PBU)

camp held on the 8th and 9th of September 2017 at St.Alberts College, Ernakulam. The camp was an initiativeof Navadarsan and was focused on the overalldevelopment of the students of 8th, 9th and 10th classeswho came under The Archdiocese of Verapoly. The

camp included training on Self-awareness,Personality Development, relationship building,improving memory (mnemonics) and Fun & games.Our MBA second year students Fr. Joseph, Ms. Lisha,Ms. Susmitha, Ms. Mary Cindrella, Ms. Theja, Ms.Savya, Ms. Belisha, and Mr. Nigil constituted the teamwhich led the PBU camp.

Japanese Delegation's visit to AIM

As part of student cultural exchange programme,students from Seisen University, Tokyo, Japan

visited Albertian Institute of Management on 11September 2017. The visitors wearing 'Kimono', theirtraditional dress entered our campus by lighting thelamp, the significance of which was explained to them.Dr. Kathy R. Matsui, Professor, Dept. of GlobalCitizenship Studies, Seisen University addressed thestudents of MBA Semester I and III on the need ofcultural exchange followed by a rendition of'Vanchipattu' by the AIM students. The visitors alsojoined in the chorus and later sang a group song

which symbolised hope and also performed aJapanese dance form. The students of AIM and SeisenUniversity were then divided into groups to sharetheir thoughts regarding work culture, educational

system, business scenarios, etc. pertaining to theirrespective countries. Ms. Beena Sebastian, Founding

Albertian Institute of Management conducted atwo day workshop on 'Fundamentals of Capital

Markets' for preparing the students to appear forNational Institute of Securities Market (NISM) FMPcertification. The workshop was conducted on 11 -12 October 2017 and covered the first module ofFinance Market Professional Program (FMP). Mr.Pradeep Chandrasekaran, CEO of Finmark and a

pioneer in financial literacy in the country was theresource person for the workshop. The workshopprovided the students with an overview of thefinancial system in India, how the system works andhow the securities market will help the growth of theeconomy. The next three modules will be coveredduring the months of November 2017 to January2018.

A Session with Mr. Anish Aravind

Mr. Anish Aravind, Secretary, NIPM Kerala Chapterand Principal Consultant - HCM & Organisation

Effectiveness, SS Consulting visited Albertian Instituteof Management on 20 September. He addressed thestudents on the topic 'Industry Interaction aroundHuman Dynamics Inside Organisations'. Hehighlighted the various facets of a challenging workenvironment and on the importance of competitivecompensation strategies to create and maintain aneffective workforce.

HPCL Executive Director Visits AIM

Mr. Rajnish Mehta, Executive Director, HindustanPetroleum Corporation Limited (HPCL) visited

AIM on 30 August 2017 to interact with the facultyand students of AIM. Due to the intermittent rains inMumbai, his flight got delayed and hence reached AIMcampus at 06.30 pm. He was accompanied by Mr. D.S. Vinod, the Sr. Regional Manager of HPCL. The Deanshowed them around the campus and also discussedthe possibilities of Industry-Academia collaboration

between AIM and HPCL. Ashe was not able to meetthe students on the saiddate due to his late arrival,he promised to visit thecampus in the near futureto interact with thestudents.

President of Cultural Academy for Peace who hadaccompanied the delegates of Seisen Universitydiscussed with the students the need of gendersensitisation in the business context. Rev. Fr. AntonyArackal, Managing Director, AIM welcomed thegathering and Dr. Geo Jos Fernandez,Dean, AIMproposed the Vote of Thanks.

Session on Marketing Research & Consumer Behaviour

Mr. Dinoj of August Research and Mrs. Divya, afreelance consultant interacted with the

students and explained the difference betweenMarketing Research and Market Research and aboutthe different controversies that exist in the field ofMarketing Research. They also gave a brief idea aboutthe importance of marketing research process, therole of marketing research in the contemporary worldand the scope and opportunities in the field ofmarketing research.
