A-G• In order to be eligible to attend any school in the

University of California (UC) or the California State University (CSU) systems as a freshman, you must take certain classes in high school. These classes are known as the "A-G Subjects”

• A-G are also foundational courses for many schools nationwide, and community colleges

• You must get a "C" or better in each of these classes to count towards college

So what are the A-G requirements?

What happens if I don’t meet these requirements?

• If you fail a class, you will need to retake it until you receive a passing grade. This repetition will often occur as an online recovery course (after school hours) or at adult education (night school, after hours); in addition to the regular work load you have

• CAHSEE: you have until 12th grade to pass the parts of the exam you still need

• If you still do not meet requirements you will need to look into a “GED” or the General Education Development tests. Passing these tests will give you the equivalent to a hs diploma, but still require time and effort to study and pass.

• Better to put forth the effort and time to pass the class, and earn the credit, the FIRST time!!
