Abortiona) Do you consider yourself pro-choice or pro-
life?Pro-life Pro-life
f) Other or expanded principles
I oppose abortion in all instances except when the
life of the mother is in imminent danger, at which
time the mother must make a prayerful decision.
It is my belief that life begins at conception and
must be protected from that point forward.
It is the law of the land but I'm not supportative.
Nevertheless, it is an extremely personal andsensitive decision for the individual, her family,
her faith, etc.

Comment:
Taxes are too high and must be lowered. Our
existing income tax system has become toocomplicated and burdensome. It must be
simplified. I believe a flat tax or fair tax (national
sales tax) would be better for America and would
support either as a replacement of the current
system. If we maintain the current system, it must
be simplified and rates lowered to encourage
Reform tax program to be more more fair. and
encourage all to carry their part of the burden. I
am against income taxes and support a form of
consumption tax but NOT the VAT.

Monetary Policy3) Do you support the elimination of the
federal estate tax?Yes Yes
4) Do you support requiring the federal
budget to be balanced each year?Yes Yes
5) Do you support using government funds in
an effort to stimulate and improve the
economy?
No No
Comments:
I support a balanced budget amendment. I
oppose federal stimulus funds, but favor tax cuts
to stimulate the economy.
Only through a reduction of spending not
increased taxation. Also support deficit operation
in the event of a Congressionally declared
National Emergency. Could support some federal
stimulus if it went directly to the private sector

Employment Issues
Comments:
While I support the right of workers to unionize, I
believe Texas, a right to work state, has it right, you should not be required to join a union in
order to work. I support retraining displaced
workers, but think it should be done by the states,
not the federal government.

Campaign Finance and
Government Reform
Issues (cont.)
f) Do you support limiting the President's
ability to define how legislation is applied
through the use of signing statements?
Yes Yes
Comments:
Current campaign finance law strongly favors
incumbents. While individuals can only contribute
$2,400 per election, PACs, which almost
exclusively contribute to incumbents, have higher
limits. Over regulation of indirect campaigning by
corporations and unions violates the first
amendment. A line item veto is a tempting way
to address pork barrel spending and to balance
the budget. Unfortunately, I think that would give
the president too much authority and interfere
with the balance of power laid in the constitution.
Executive orders limiting or changing laws
enacted by congress are another violation of the
separation of powers doctrine and are
unconstitutional.

Environment and Energy
Issues (cont.)e) Do you support domestic oil exploration in
federally-protected areas?Yes Yes
f) Do you support federal funding for the
development of alternative energy?No No
g) Do you support the development of nuclear
reactors?Yes Yes
Comments:
I support keeping off shore areas open to oil and
gas exploration. I support tax incentives for
domestic oil and gas exploration and maintaining
the deductibility of indirect drilling costs. Energy
independence is no longer just about fufilling our
energy needs, it is now a matter of nationalsecurity. We must stop buying oil from nations
Gun Issuesa) Do you support restrictions on the purchase
and possession of guns?No No
b) Do you believe that the Second
Amendment guarantees the right of individual
citizens to own guns?
Yes Yes
c) Do you support allowing individuals to carryconcealed guns?
Yes Yes
d) Do you support a ban on assault rifles? No No
Comments:
The second amendment is pretty clear, "... the

not be infringed."

Health Issuesa) Do you support a publicly-administered
health insurance option?No No
b) Do you support expanding access to health
care through commercial health insurance
reform?
Yes Yes
c) Should the federal government expand
eligibility for tax-free medical savings
accounts?
Yes Yes
d) Do you support monetary limits on
damages that can be collected in malpractice
lawsuits?
Yes Yes
e) Do you support relaxing regulations on the
importation of prescription drugs?Yes Yes
Comments:
I'm not in favor of sweeping or comprehensivechanges to the pre Obama system. Healthcare is
broken because we have taken personal
responsibility out of it. Employers pay for
insurance, doctors bill insurance companies, and
the consumer is out of the loop. There is no
incentive for anyone to keep costs down. I
support deregulation and opening insurance
markets across state lines. Give consumers an
incentive to keep costs down like a combination
health savings account and high deductable
policies. Once the savings account exceeds the

Immigration Issues
(cont.)c) Do you support establishing English as the
official national language?Yes Yes
d) Do you support the enforcement of federal
immigration laws by state and local police?
Yes No
Comments:
It's not fair to people in line to enter this country
legally to grant amnesty. Illegal aliens must line-
up with other applicants and re-enter legally.
Most immigrants don't want to exploit our
welfare system, they want to work. It should be
easy for people with jobs to enter legally and
make a better life for themselves. Once we adopt
a realistic policy with realistic numbers, we must
use technology and personnel to seal the boarder
to keep out drug runners and terrorists. The
existing look the other way system leaves people
exploited and afraid to seek help from police.
International Policy

action in Afghanistan?Yes No
b) Do you support increasing military
assistance for Afghanistan?Yes Yes
c) Do you support increasing economic
development assistance for Afghanistan?Yes No
d) Should the United States continue to strike
suspected terrorist targets in Pakistan?

International Policy
Issues (cont.)f) Should the United States support the
creation of a Palestinian state?Yes No
g) Do you support increasing sanctions on Iranif it continues to defy United Nations
mandates?
No Yes
h) Do you support the withdrawal of United
States troops from Iraq?No Yes
i) Do you support the United States'
involvement in free trade agreements?Yes No
Comments:
I generally oppose foreign aid because I believe
you can't buy friends. In countries, like
Afghanistan, where we have conducted military
operations, we have an obligation to help them
stabilize with military and economic aid. I only
support the formation of a Palestinian state if it
furthers the interests of lasting peace in the
Middle East and Palestine recognizes Israel's right
to exist. I believe we must finish the job in Iraq
and then turn Iraq back to the Iraqis. I am
troubled by how long this has taken but am
unwilling to withdraw before the situation isstable.

Social Issues (cont.)c) Do you support federal funding for
embryonic stem cell research?No Yes
d) Should the federal government end
affirmative action programs?Yes Yes
Comments:
I believe marriage is an institution created by God
to be between one man and one woman. I do,
however, support a form of union with rights
similar to marriage for gays and lesbians, but it
must be called something else. Marriage is a
biblically defined term. There are many gays in
the military who have served this country
honorable. Though perhaps not the best solution,
the don't ask, don't tell policy of the past seemsto have been a reasonable compromise for
people on both sides of this issue. Affirmative
action, like other race based distinctions, are
devisive.

Legislative Priorities
Please explain in a total of 100 words or less,
your top two or three priorities if elected. If
they require additional funding for
implementation, please explain how you
would obtain this funding.
create a climate where businesses flourish and
create good paying jobs and opportunities for
entrepreneurs. This economic growth will
increase tax revenue and lower the debt.
Vigorously defend this country by supporting the
military and intelligence agencies. Create an
immigration system that takes into account
America?s traditional reliance on hard working
immigrants who share our American dream of
making a better life and then secure our boarder
to keep evildoers out. Repeal ObamaCare.
Balance the budget through economic growth.
Return power to the states and respect the
A return to the Constitutionally expressed roles of
Congress. No more exclusion of Congress or any
other special interest group from legislation.
Drastic curtailment of Federal spending.
Significant restriction on bureaucratic legislation.
