about omnibus Press
Omnibus Press is the world’s largest specialist publisher of music-related books. We publish around 40 new titles a year to add to a backlist of over 250 titles currently in print.
Omnibus was launched in 1976 and among our earliest acquisitions was Rock Family Trees by acclaimed music archivist Pete Frame which remain in print to this day and have been the basis of two BBC TV series. Over the succeeding decades we have published many best-selling defi nitive biographies on most of rock’s greatest superstars. These include Morrissey & Marr: The Severed Alliance by Johnny Rogan, Dear Boy: The Life Of Keith Moon by Tony Fletcher, Uptight: The Velvet Underground Story by Victor Bockris and Catch A Fire: The Life of Bob Marley by Timothy White, all of which are regularly cited by magazines and critics as being amongst the fi nest rock biographies ever published.
Among more recent titles are Kraftwerk: Publikation by David Buckley, Someone Like Adele by Caroline Sanderson, Under The Ivy: The Life & Music of Kate Bush by Graeme Thomson, Thin Lizzy: The Boys Are Back in Town by Harry Doherty & Scott Gorham and The Million Sellers which Omnibus has published in association with the Offi cial Charts Company. We also distribute the enormously successful Rare Record Price Guide, produced by Record Collector magazine. Our biography of Lionel Bart Fings Ain’t Wot They Used T’Be was runner up in the The Sheridan Morley Prize for Theatre Biography and Andy Neill, the author of our Faces biography Had Me A Real Good Time was awarded a Certifi cate of Merit in the 2012 Association for Recorded Sound Collections Award for Excellence in Historical Research in Recorded Pop or Rock.
Among the highlights of Omnibus Press’ 2013 schedule are biographies of George Harrison, Tom Petty and Christina Aguilera, as well as Gabba Gabba Hey, The Ramones Graphic, the latest in a series of graphic biographies of iconic rock performers. In the Autumn we will be publishing The Beatles Illustrated Lyrics with a limited edition print run of only 1,500 copies.

the Beatles Illustrated lyrics Alan Aldridge
A classic revisited! The Beatles Illustrated Lyrics is the only major collection of illustrated Beatles lyrics available. Originally published in 1969, it has become an icon for an era and a must-have for Beatles fans. Quotes from John, Paul, George and Ringo provide a witty and insightful commentary on the songs and their origins while the full-colour illustrations refl ect the psychedelic world the Beatles lived in and the popular culture they infl uenced.
When Alan Aldridge originally put The Beatles Illustrated Lyrics together he asked notable contemporary illustrators to illuminate the lyrics in any way they liked…and also advertised for fan art from the public. This unique book is the result.
A one off print run of 1,500 copies, signed, hand numbered, and with a print ready for framing and presented in a boxed case.
