Who Should AttendThis national multidisciplinary conference is designed for all healthcare professionals involved with the care of injured children, including surgeons, emergency medicine physicians, nurse practitioners, nurses, physician assistants, pre-hospital providers and social workers.

EMS AccreditationApplication for Continuing Education credits has been submitted to the Pennsylvania Department of Health Bureau of EMS through the Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh of UPMC. Your CEUs will be applied to your Status Report within two weeks of the conclusion of the symposium. Providers from other states will be provided with a certificate of attendance.

Social Work AccreditationChildren’s Hospital of Philadelphia is a pre-approved provider of continuing education credits for Pennsylvania Licensed Social Workers, Marriage and Family Therapists, and Professional Counselors. Participants licensed in Pennsylvania who attend the full workshop and complete the required evaluation are eligible for 12.5 Continuing Education Credits. Participants licensed in other states should check with local licensing boards to determine continuing education approval.

Call for AbstractsThe oral abstract and poster sessions will focus on topics of interest and importance to all clinicians involved in the care of pediatric trauma patients.

Abstracts will only be accepted for review until the submission deadline, Saturday, Nov. 10, 2018. To learn more and submit an abstract, go to templetontrauma.org.

Cancellation and Refund PolicyChildren’s Hospital of Philadelphia reserves the right to cancel or postpone any course due to any unforeseen circumstances. In the event of cancellation or postponement, Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia will refund registration fees, but is not responsible for any related costs, charges or expenses to participants, including cancellation charges assessed by airlines or travel agencies.

In order to process refunds for course withdrawals, cancellations must be received in writing by Monday, Feb. 11, 2019. No refunds will be issued thereafter. Refunds will be issued for the amount of registration minus a $50 service charge.

Trauma Outcomes and Performance Improvement Course®

Course OverviewAttend a STN TOPIC course designed to meet the unique needs of pediatric providers!

The Society of Trauma Nurses Trauma Outcomes and Performance Improvement Course (TOPIC) is taught to all members of the trauma system team who participate in the assessment, evaluation and improvement of trauma care. This course is taught in a one-day interactive modular format, customized to best meet the needs of the individual trauma care provider participants who have varying levels of experience with trauma performance improvement. The course offers practical application for all levels of trauma centers, from entry level to the mature phase of program development. The modules are taught with a focus on didactic, operational definitions, sample tools, case study examples and take-home points.
