Karen and Larry Lommen’s Sunday morning Lent group is again organizing the annual Holy Week Prayer Vigil. It will begin after the evening worship service on Maundy Thursday, April 13, and conclude the following day, Good Friday, at 3 pm. The vigil will take place in the Sanctuary, with hosts/hostesses present in the Narthex at all times. You’re invited to spend some quiet time with the Lord during these special days. The time may be used for personal devotion, but there also will be cards with prayer requests submitted by church members for which you can pray. Participants may come for a few minutes or an hour or more. Sign-ups begin Sun., March 26, in the courtyard. ORGAN RECITAL On Sun., April 9, 2 pm, Dr. Jeremy Peterman will present his first recital as organist at La Casa de Cristo. Entitled “A New Year,” the recital will feature works by J.S. Bach, Arvo Pärt, Flor Peeters, Raymond Henry, Jean Langlais, and more—highlighting the myriad capabilities of the Sanctuary’s magnificent Berghaus organ. On several pieces, Jeremy will be joined by a brass quintet to even more festively celebrate the years given to each one of us through God’s grace. This recital is made possible through a gift in memory of A. Paul and Marilyn J. Stork. No ticket is required. Invite your family and friends and join us for this memorable afternoon of music! SPECIAL PRESENTATION: Managing Your Estate in God’s Kingdom Plan to join us on Sun., April 23, 9:15 or 10:30 am, when Dr. William Larsen and John Stull, both La Casa members, present Managing Your Estate in God’s Kingdom: Essential Information to Assist Your Heirs in Carrying out Your Wishes. This special event is presented by La Casa’s Adult Education Ministry. This presentation, together with an accompanying binder, available for purchase for $5, includes information in ten categories to make the management of an estate organized and efficient. The binder’s comprehensive materials provide personal suggestions for you as well as information for your representative, and cover how to administer an estate by using either a will or a trust. As children in God’s Kingdom, we have a responsibility to use for God’s glory the skills and resources that He has given us. With that in mind, this presentation will give you the help you need to ensure that your legacy and wishes become a reality.
