OPENING HOURSThe venue will be open at the following times:

Saturday – 6.45amSunday – 6.45am

COMPETITOR INFORMATIONInternational IWF Rules Apply

Uniform requirements These are to be of IWF standard. For detailed information please see page 30 in the IWF Technical, Competition Rules & Regulations.

To put it briefly:• A one piece suit must be worn• A collarless t-shirt may be worn underneath but it cannot cover your elbows• Socks cannot cover the knees• Weightlifting shoes must be worn• Maximum width of a weightlifting belt is 12cm• Wrist wraps/guards cannot connect out onto the thumb

Informal Reminders/Suggestions• No swearing on the competition platform• There will be a verbal 30 second reminder• Remember to wait for a verbal down signal from the centre referee

Session Medal CeremonyAfter each session there will be a medal ceremony. All competitors must be available for this. All competitors will receive a participation certificate. First, second and third placings will receive a medal, certificate and prize. All competitors are then expected to be available for a group photo after the ceremony.A reminder this is an open category event. There will not be medals for age groups.

Final Prize GivingAfter the final session on Sunday the best Male, Female, Male team and Female team will be announced.

Drug Free Sport NZAfter the final lift of your session, you may be approached by a Drug Free Sport NZ representative to be drug tested. Please note that you still need to be available for the ceremony and then the representative will escort you to the Drug Testing Room upstairs in CFD.

Toilets & ShowersThe toilets available are open to both competitors, coach, officials AND spectators. There are also showers in these bathrooms.

Athlete SpecificWe will have a microwave and jug onsite for athletes to use. Please bring your own cutlery/crockery and make sure you keep the area tidy.

Sauna The closest sauna facility to the competition venue is Les Mils on Dowling StAddress: 10/12 Dowling StOpening Hours: 7am – 7pmCost: If not a Les mils member, casual visit is $25Next option is OUSA - http://www.ousa.org.nz/recreation/sauna/

Athlete Weigh In The weigh in room is near the toilets and warm up area which will be sign posted so you can’t miss it!Weigh in will be called in lot number order so don’t be late!Athletes DO NOT have access to the scales when officials are weighing in competitors for the hour weigh in time. Athletes are able to use the competition scales outside of this time to check their weight.

Warm up AreaThe warm up area is in the lower half of CFD and is blocked off by black partitions. Only coaches and athletes competing in that session will have access to this area. Coach restrictions in warm up area1 athlete = 2 peopleMore than one athlete from the same club = 1 extra person per each athleteIt is expected that after each medal ceremony, all coaches and athletes put all of the gear back where they found it and ensure the area is tidy for the next session. Please respect these rules as they are important for safety reasons.

ClothingPlease be sure to wrap up as Dunedin is cold in the winter! Bring blankets even, there will be a microwave athletes can use for wheatbags.

Video/MediaThere will be photographers, videographers and possible other media present over the weekend. Athletes, coaches and spectators may be asked for a short interview/ end up in photos or video footage.

EmergencyThe event announcer will provide a briefing before the start of each session about what to do in case of an emergency. Please remain calm and follow the instructions given by our event officials.

Coffee & Food LocationsAcross and down the Road from CFD is The Standard Kitchen, open 9.30-3.30 both days.On the corner of Princes and Dowling St you’ll find Excelsior Cafè (open Saturday only).Further up Princes St is The Black Dog Cafè.Continuing on to the Octagon you will find a Night ‘n Day, Subway, Turkish, multiple cafès and restaurants. The Perc in lower Octagon/Stuart St do great coffee and food.
