OLYMPIADThe National science olympiad is organized

every year to motivate students to strive for better and deeper understanding of scientific facts and data and to enhance their reasoning ,analytical and problem solving skills

All school students are invited to participate in this unique contest that testes their understanding level of knowledge , application and power of reasoning

STAGES OF OLYMPIADPreliminary examination or National

standered examination in which 40,000 students appear in the country

Out of 40,000 students only 300 students get selected in each subject . These selected students appear in the INO (Indian National Olympiads) at various centers in India .

Only 30 students from each group qualify for the OCSE-Orientation Cum Selection Camp organized by Homi Bhabha Centre for Science Education (HBCSE)

This camp is 20 to 30 days long in which students have to under go the rigorous training and testing procedures . 5 to 6 students from each subject represent the country in the international olympiads (IOS). They are further geared up for the international camp in HBCSE , Mumbai for another 15 days .

The final fourth stage is the participation of Indian teams in the International olympiads hold in July – August every year . The venue of the international event varies year to year in each subject
