Gentlemen,'

An Assurance tat purported to have been forwarded your-

Comission an or about 18 October 1949 by the Superior of a convent

located at 205 Major Avenue, Arroohar Park, Staten Island, New York,

• on behalf of-the following Hungarian Refugees:

Mk. Paul and Mks (Eva) HODOSY,-and their daughter Csilla,

age 13 yrs located at Munich, Germany, Haimhauser Str. 25.11.

(He to perform gardening; she to act as a domestic).

It Was eypected that the Assurance and authorisation would arrive

in Frankfurt the end of November last, but till 9 January 1950 no

word has been forwarded by the Commission, which is the reason for

this inquiry.

My wife and I are personally acquainted with the Hodosy

family for the last thirty years in all, and have been in cones- •

pondence with them in a desultory way, except for the War Years.

Therefore, if any information as regards this family is desired,

the both of us are well qualified to furnish such. During the pe-

riod 4 March 1945 and 24 September 1946, I was the US Naval Member

of the Allied Control Comission for Hungary located in Budapest, and

• I inquired into their conduct during the War Years and an satisfied

that such was correct as could be exercised under the difficult

t.o.
