Old-Time Radio Shows are available to all patrons of the Talking Book Centers in Illinois. These are commercial tapes and play at 1 7/8 speed on the C-1 machine or on a regular cassette player. They do not play on an E-1 machine. The catalog is organized by artist and the tape numbers are listed within that artist. Please note: Many of the radio shows are parts of sets or collections. Frequently certain shows are repeated within several collections so it is possible to receive duplicate episodes of many shows. There are two ways to order Old-Time Radio Shows. You may call your Talking Book Center and give them the numbers of the shows you would like added to your request list. You may also write the numbers on a piece of paper with your name and address on it and mail it to your Talking Book Center. Order as many at a time as you would like, keeping in mind that there may be a waiting list for some of the popular shows. Loan period is six weeks and we will send up to five tapes at a time. Keep this catalog and contact your Talking Book Center at any time to order.
