£> • B Y LAWS OF THE JOHN F. PATTIE, SR. ELEMENTARY SCHOOL PARENT-TEACHER COOPERATIVE ORGANIZATION ARTICLE I. ESTABLISHMENT T he John F , Pattie S r. Elementary School Parent-Teacher Cooperative Organization,,formerly th e Washington-Pveid Parent-Teacher Cooperative Organization, is hereby established as the official parent-teacher organization of th John F, Pattie Sr . Elementary School retroactive to August, 1978; and as amended hereto o n this date, th e 12th day of October, 1988. ARTICLE II , ARTICLES O F ORGANIZATION The John F. Pattie Sr . Elementary School Parent-Teacher Cooperative Organization, hereafter referred to as the "organization" or ' ; PTCO !I is an unincorporated association of its members, organized under th e authority of the laws of the Commonwealth of Virginia for volunteer non-profit organizations. Its "Articles of Organization" comprise articles o f these By-Laws, as from time to' ti m < amended. v ARTICLE III. OBJECTIVES Section 1. T he objectives of the organization are: a . To promote closer relationships between the home and the school and provide a mechanism fo r communication in wh ich parents, teachers and the school administration m ay cooperate in the education process. b . T o promote an d support th e educational an d extracurricular programs o f the school to nourish the complete mental, physical and social development of each child. S ection 2. The objectives of the organizations are to be accomplished through conferences, committees, projects an d programs directed towards parents, teachers, students and the general public; and are governed and qualified by the basic policies set forth in Article IV. -.
