OK!It’s the day we’ve all been waiting for, the biggest event on the A-list calender and certainly this year’s Oscars didn’t disappoint. With Julianne Moore and Eddie Redmayne winning Best Actress and Best Actor respectively; as well as the OK! team avidly noting who won what, we were super-excited to be designer dress-spotting throughout the entire ceremony. And our favourite looks on the night included Gwyneth Paltrow, Jennifer Lopez and Keira

Knightley. Plus, we loved how cute some of our favourite couples, including Chris Pratt and Anna Faris and Jennifer Aniston and Justin Theroux looked on the red carpet together. And after all the onstage action had wrapped, it was party time in Hollywood, as the stars headed rst to the annual Governor’s Ball, before hitting up the super-exclusive and star-packed Vanity Fair party, as well as Elton John’s super-fun bash.

Elsewhere we bring you all the style and glamour from the Tom Ford A/W15 presentation in L.A, the relaxed vibe of the Independent Spirit Awards, and ll you in on what’s hot to trot for polo season.

GESTINSELTOWN COMES

OUT FOR TOMAND THE LADIES (MOSTLY) WORE BLACK FOR DESIGNER TOM FORD’S A/W15 SHOWCASE

W ith all his favourite fashionable ladies dressed top to toe in his own designs, Tom Ford’s

Autumn/Winter 2015 womenswear show in L.A last week was a star-studded and decidedly noir-ish event. With Beyonce, Miley, So a and Fergie all rocking chic black looks, it was up to Scarlett Johansson to stand out in a gold body

con number as she walked the red carpet with her husband, Romain Dauriac.

Cutting a striking gure in a see-through leopard print dress, Nicole Richie showed off her new pink chop, with the reality TV star getting seriously scissor-happy with her former tresses.

And it wasn’t just the girls who brought the glamour, with Miley’s man, Patrick Schwarzenegger, Josh Duhamel, and Oscars host, Neil Patrick Harris all looking seriously dapper for one of fashion’s biggest male stars.

Hollywood’s SMALLEST STARS

Heart of Dixie’s Jaime King has spoken, frankly about the painful fertility struggle

she went through when trying to conceive her 16-month-old son, James Knight.

“I was hiding what I was going through for so long, and I hear about so many women going through what I went through. If I’m open about it, hopefully it won’t be so taboo to talk about it,” she revealed last week, after fi rst opening up about her diffi culty on Instagram last summer. But after ‘fi ve miscarriages, fi ve rounds of IVF and 26 rounds of IUI’, she fell pregnant, giving birth in October 2013. “When I got pregnant it was the best thing in the whole world. I had never felt so grateful, happy and elated.”

JAIME KING ON HER FERTILITY STRUGGLES

Liv Tyler has welcomed a healthy baby boy, named Sailor Gene Gardner, with her football

agent partner, David Gardner.“Our little one has arrived... Beautiful baby

boy... Happy Valentine’s Day [Liv],” David, who happens to be good friends with both David Beckham and Harry Styles posted on Instagram.

And The Leftovers actress’s Aerosmith frontman father, Steven Tyler, opened up about the birth. “When I got the call that Liv was going into labour, after crying like a baby myself, I immediately dropped everything and went to the airport to get on the next available fl ight,” he said on Facebook of his daughter, who is already mum to 10-year-old, Milo. “[My daughter Mia was] giving me minute by minute updates… [But] I made it right in time before my second grandson entered this world.”

STACY KEIBLER’S ‘NO NANNY’

POLICY George Clooney’s model ex,

Stacy Keibler has opened up about precious time spent with her six-month-old daughter, Ava Grace, and making the decision to become a full-time mother.

“Being a mum is the most important job I’ve ever had, but being a full-time mum means more to me than anything in the world right now,”

the 35-year-old said. And it seems that her businessman husband, Jared Pobre is totally on board.

“He’s just above and beyond any of my wildest dreams,” she shares. “Once we had Ava, we realised how important this fi rst year of her life is… the fi rst couple of months, she’s just a little itty bitty baby and so we really want to be there and we want to be the ones doing everything.”

ANNA FARIS: ‘MICKEY ROURKE

SHUSHED MY BABY’

Travelling with young kids is stressful, fact! And it seems even being a Hollywood

actress and Mrs Chris Pratt doesn’t excuse a person from that stress, as The House Bunny star, Anna Faris revealed.

“I have taken my sweet little boy all over the place and most notably, the longest trip we’ve done is London to visit Chris when he was shooting Guardians of the Galaxy,” the 38-year-old revealed of her two-year-old son, Jack. “On the way back – on the tarmac at Heathrow – he starts vocalising... not screaming, not crying, just being adorable, I thought. [Then] across the aisle, I hear a ‘Shush!’ and I look over and it’s Mickey Rourke.”

Recognising the 62-year-old The Wrestler actor, Anna spilled, “I was already so nervous before, knowing that everyone hated me. Then to have Mickey Rourke confi rm that didn’t feel great!”

LIV TYLER WELCOMES BABY BOY, SAILOR

GWEN STEFANI: ‘MY KIDS THOUGHT

PHARRELL WAS MY BOYFRIEND’

Despite being happily married to Gavin Rossdale, No Doubt’s front woman Gwen Stefani’s sons,

Kingston, eight, and Zuma, six, thought that Pharrell Williams could have been her boyfriend.

“They were such huge fans and I was like, ‘Actually, I know Pharrell,’” the mother-of-three revealed. “I started showing them pictures on the Internet and they were like, ‘Wait a minute, is he your boyfriend?’ I’m like, ‘No!’”

N ew York Fashion week was on last week, with Kanye kicking off proceedings in style with his Kanye West X

Adidas runway show. Naturally, his wife Kim Kardashian, 34, was front row for the show, along with their 19-month-old daughter, North, who seemed less than impressed about being there.

The toddler – who was sat with mum, between Vogue’s Anna Wintour, Beyoncé and Jay Z – unleashed her most fashionable temper tantrum on the room before the show started, while wearing a “#BabyYeezyBulletProofVest”, according to Kim.

“Many celebrities who attended the show weren’t pleased to hear North cry as she sat on Kim Kardashian’s lap, and Jay Z and Beyoncé’s annoyed look on their faces basically spoke for everyone in the room,” spilled a fashion source. While one attendee reported overhearing one fashion editor remarking, “Couldn’t they leave it backstage?”

But dad Kanye, 37, didn’t seem too stressed by North’s outburst, saying after the show, “Maybe she was just scared for her daddy. She just wanted people to stop being mean to her daddy.”

But it seems that Nori’s strop wasn’t enough to deter Kim and Kanye from taking her back to the front row two days later for the Alexander Wang show, which Kim’s sister Kendall walked in.

The tot – who was dressed head-to-toe in black, custom-made Alexander Wang – was apparently distracted by photographer Kevin Tachman’s monkey toy, and started bawlingon the front row when she couldn’t have it.

“I brought the monkey to have fun with the models as I primarily shoot backstage, and it’s always a good way to make the girls smile,” Kevin said. “Then I realised that [North] may

‘Where aren’t the Kardashian-Wests these days? Honestly, I half expect to climb under my duvet of an evening and nd them lurking at the bottom of my bed, such is the exhausting ubiquity of

Kim, Kanye and North’s appearances. And with the rapper so desperate to make Kim ‘happen’ as a ‘fashion’ person, it seems no event is too un-child-friendly for the family to turn up to. As the mother of a two-year-old, I know there are certain nerve-shredding take-your-kid to things that simply have to be done – aeroplane trips to name but one. But the front row is not on anyone’s ‘must take

PEPLUM TALK

TOP 5 TIPSThink effortless and elegantThis is the sport of kings, so dress like a style queen! Channel ladylike polish in classic tailoring, chic dresses and feminine separates.

A tip-top topperLeave your fancy fascinator at home – a straw panama or wide-brimmed sunhat is the perfect way to top off your polo look.

The thigh’s the limitKnee-length is as short as your skirt should be, and if you’re wearing shorts or a playsuit, make sure they’re no shorter than mid-thigh, and skim the body, rather than cling to it.

Hot heels or fabulous fl ats?The choice is yours, but if your choose heels, make sure they’re comfortable – while ats and wedges are perfect for those essential divot-stomping moments.

Bags of StyleA shoulder bag or cute clutch work best with a pretty polo out t; a huge bag looks too bulky.

I t’s a fashion fairytale made in heaven – and if there’s one classic storybook heroine who deserves to have a gorgeous designer shoe made for her,

it’s Cinderella. And it looks like her fairy godmother has really pulled it out of the bag this time. In honour of the release of the new Disney live-action Cinderella lm, starring gorgeous Downton Abbey star Lily James and Cate Blanchett, some of the world’s most famous shoe designers are coming to her aid, creating a glass slipper t for a princess.

From Perspex to Swarovski-adorned, the ctional shoe has been reimagined in a range of ways by designers including Nicholas Kirkwood, Jimmy Choo, Charlotte Olympia, Salvatore Ferragamo, Jerome Rousseau, Stuart Weitzman, Paul Andrew, Alexandre Birman, and Rene Caovilla, and are available to order from key stores across the world, including Level Shoe District in Dubai.

“I think every girl desires a Cinderella moment in their lives,” spilled Sandra Choi, Creative Director of Jimmy Choo. “This story ignites a love affair and fascination with shoes that never dies. The power they have to transform is instilled from a young age and the fantasy remains alive forever. I wanted to create a shoe that felt magical, with alluring sparkle and a feminine, timeless silhouette evoking those childhood emotions.”

Here’s hoping the shoes come complete with their very own Prince Charming too…

BEAUTYBUZZ

AGE BEFORE BEAUTY?Can you believe that Rachel Zoe and

Jared Leto are both 43? Neither can we, to be honest. But a new study has revealed that women are at an unfair disadvantage when it comes to anti-ageing. In the battle to stay younger looking, it’s not just a woman’s skin that ages faster, it’s her posture too.

According to a new study, after the age of 25, women lose collagen, the connective tissue in our skin responsible for rmness and elasticity, at a rate of 1.5 per cent each year. And by the time a woman hits 40, researchers estimate that a woman’s intrinsic skin age, or her genetically-programmed ageing rate, is 15 years ahead of her male counterpart’s. Which is maybe why Jared looks like

he’s still not old enough to see one of his own movies at the cinema, whereas Rachel looks more like she could be on her way to getting a free bus pass.

To make matters worse, a woman’s posture also deteriorates faster than a man’s, with research showing that women are already signi cantly at risk for posture related health problems. According to a global study men stand 20 per cent taller and straighter than women, which also knocks years off their age. Blamed upon women regularly carrying a large, heavy bag, a la Rachel Zoe, sitting for long periods and wearing inappropriate footwear – yep, that’s our beloved killer heels – shoulders can drop and roll forwards, making us stoop, and therefore look older. Time to dig out the ats and stand tall, ladies.

K nown for his wild pop culture collections and love of all things kitsch, Moschino’s Creative Director Jeremy Scott has to be the biggest kid in the

fashion business. Making no secret for his love of toys – and considering his S/S15 collection was based entirely on Barbie – it comes as no surprise that the designer’s rst ever fragrance for the Italian fashion house is just a perfume housed in a cute teddy bear casing

“The bottle pays homage to the famous Franco Moschino bear dress from the autumn/winter 1988 collection. As I had never seen a plush stuffed animal as a perfume bottle it seemed like all the more reason to do it,” the designer spilled.

But despite being housed in toyshop-style packaging, Jeremy revealed that the fragrance is wholly grown up. “Beyond the bottle and packaging being a radical departure from any fragrance ever before for Moschino or otherwise, the scent has a unisex quality to it which has not been done formerly by the brand.”

A blend of mandarin, cardamom, and bergamot with a heart of lavender, violet petals and hawthorn with sandalwood, vanilla, moss and acacia, the scent is as playful and vibrant as Scott’s sellout collections for Moschino, which are beloved by a host of celebs including Katy Perry, Rita Ora and Miley Cyrus. Hinting that a make-up collection could be the next thing on his ‘to-do’ list, Jeremy looks set to help the brand continue to score major fashion points for many more years to come. “There is a lot on the horizon for Moschino,” revealed the 39-year-old designer. “This November marks my rst year at the brand and I have a lot more that I would like to achieve.”

The annual Emirates Airline Dubai Jazz Festival is another major event happening this weekend and I’m de nitely going to be checking it out. Sting, a legendary artist who I really admire, will be playing at the Dubai

Amphitheatre alongside John Legend, Christina Perri and James Blunt, as well as a host of other well-known jazz artists. Whether you’ve been before or not, this is a festival de nitely worth heading down to.

It doesn’t matter how old I get, I’ll always be completely fascinated by magicians and their tricks. I recently had award-winning European magician, Martti Vannas come to my place to entertain my family and I. Man it was cool! He’s in town to perform at the 1UP bar at the Boutique 7 Hotel and Suites in Tecom and will be here until the end of this month and if you

BICE RISTORANTE, HILTON DUBAI JUMEIRAH RESORTWHAT IS IT? A sleek, chic and very popular ne dining Italian restaurant in JBR. WHY WE LOVE IT: On Dubai’s high end cuisine scene, Bice Ristorante is a cornerstone which, years after it rst opened in 2002, is still serving up exquisite Italian dishes.

We dined on a laid-back Tuesday night and were greeted by hugely attentive staff and a nimble- ngered pianist, who set the tone of the relaxed atmosphere.

As we browsed the menu, we soon spotted the famously favourite dishes, such as the carpaccio selection – you can opt for lobster, beef, octopus or beetroot versions of the light and fresh starter – a caprese salad and the bresola cured beef. However it was a very hearty portion of calamari, served cooked to perfection and piled high with shrimps and deep fried courgette, with tartar and spicy tomato sauces that caught our eye. And my guest opted for the equally as generous crab cake, which arrived beautifully presented on an avocado base, with a crunchy exterior to complement the soft crab centre. Who said ne dining meant small portions?

When it came to choosing a main, we were torn between pasta, pizza and fresh-from-the-grill meat and sh dishes. After a great deal of deliberation it was the sesame crusted yellow n tuna – which came cooked exactly as we like it, with aubergine and sweetly roasted peppers – that we opted for, along with the fettuccine with Canadian lobster. If there’s a place to enjoy perfectly cooked pasta, it has to be Bice. Again, we were faced with two very generous portions. And, especially when it came to the lobster dish, we were impressed by just how much perfectly cooked seafood we had to enjoy.

Come dessert, we were absolutely stuffed, but after a quick chat with the friendly chef, we decided that the best decision would be to share a lemon sorbet and the Bice signature sweet, tiramisu. However, had we been feeling slightly more indulgent, we could have ordered the cioccolatissimo, a warm chocolate souf é fondant, served with vanilla ice cream. Our sorbet was super tart, just the way we like it, and cleansed our palate perfectly ahead of the creamy, coffee medley that is a classic tiramisu.WHAT TO WEAR Go all out and dress up in your favourite new dress. This is a treat-yourself kind of restaurant.WHO TO TAKE After just one visit this will be your new fave date night spot. Just make sure you make a reservation, you don’t want to arrive and nd it fully booked. VISIT BICEGROUP.COM

BENJARONG, DUSIT THANI HOTEL, SHEIKH ZAYED ROADWHAT IS IT? Traditional Thai cuisine in a cosy and authentic environment. WHY WE LOVE IT: This beautifully traditional Thai restaurant is situated on the 36th oor of the Dusit Thani Hotel, with dazzling views that overlook the spectacular Dubai skyline. Once you get tucked away in your private Thai style hut, full of Thai pillows and cushions prepare for a night of delicious food and crazy cocktails, while being entertained by classically trained Thai musicians and dancers.

As soon as we arrived, we were welcomed with steaming hot towels and a yummy chi chi cocktail, which really got us feeling like we were on a beach in Phuket. Shortly after, Chef Naruemol Poolkuan came to say hello, and told us about her fascinating culinary past, cooking for the Thai royal family in Bangkok. Food t for a king? We knew we were in for a treat!

To begin our Southeast Asian journey we opted for the super spicy tom yum soup with prawns and I had completely forgotten how hot Thai food can be. But once I had acclimatised to the spice, I resolutely devoured my bowl of soup and was ready for more.

In Thailand, you’re always offered fresh seafood straight from the Andaman Sea, so it felt right to go for the grilled tiger prawns with a sweet and sour tamarind sauce. They were the biggest prawns I’ve ever seen and the sauce was perfection. We also went traditional with the Thai red chicken curry – which was enough for three people and tasted delicious – and ordered the fried rice served inside a pineapple for novelty’s sake, but it was a tasty highlight of our meal when it arrived at our table.

After all this amazing food, we still had room for some yummy Thai dessert and I was happy to see so many coconut-based choices. I opted for the taco saku, which is sago pandanus with coconut cream. They were wonderful little cases of coconut deliciousness. We also tried the coconut ice cream and ended up devouring the entire bowl. WHAT TO WEAR: Dress up your Thai sherman pants and a cute top, brightly coloured clutch bag and a pair of heels, then you’re good to go.WHO TO TAKE: Aside from the obvious – anyone who likes Thai food – I suggest gathering a group and packing out one of the private dining rooms. With the authentic decor and incredible cuisine, you’ll feel like you’ve been on a group island holiday.

I t’s the most anticipated showbiz moment of the year - so why not make like the toast of Hollywood and hotfoot it to Los Angeles, where you can immerse yourself in the

afterglow of awards season!Oscar month in Tinseltown can mean only one

thing – super-glamorous accommodation, A-list preening and decadent parties. With a recent Dhs120 million facelift, the Loews Hollywood Hotel is ready for its close-up, and so was OK!’s Lizzy Price when she chose it as her Hollywood haven…

Where should I stay?Standing bold, sleek and artistic like a Las Vegas palace, the Loews Hollywood is about as close to the A-list action as you can get. Stumble outside and you’ll fnd yourself on the famous Hollywood & Highland intersection, boasting the Walk Of Fame and Chinese Theatre. Rooms are some of the most spacious in town and are highly stylised with mid-century art, Eames-style leather chairs and Hollywood iconography on the walls. And there’s no such thing as a bad view at the Loews – upon checking into our room, we were blown away on pulling back our curtains to nd the world-famous Hollywood sign in all its glory.

Come Oscar weekend, the Lowes is the backstage hotel, because it backs onto the awards’ home, the Dolby Theatre. Every year, its 628 rooms are sold out, so get in there early to do some serious star spotting. Be warned, though –

the buzz reaches fever pitch with burly security guys, clipboards and commands to show ID around every corner. On the night itself, the post-awards press conference is held in the hotel, making it the perfect pit stop for nominees and presenters. And, with a rooftop pool, sun terrace and A-list helipad, we can’t blame them.

Who goes to the Loews? Here at OK!, we’ve lost count of the number of hotels which claim to be good for celeb-spotting, but the Loews is on another level! In 10 minutes hanging out in the lobby, we spotted acting Goldie Hawn and Martin Sheen. And Oscar winners Cate Blanchett and Meryl Streep have both rested their heads on Loews pillows on Oscars night. Cars pull up outside every few seconds and leave with impossibly glamorous people in the back.

Where’s a good spa? With the Loews being the most central hotel to the Hollywood hoopla, its Exhale Spa is the

hardest-working detox venue in town. We were booked in for the signature Illuminate Facial, also known as the red-carpet facial due to the VIPs who indulge during awards season. The spa uses super-expensive iS Clinical innovative skincare products – the ingredients are so active that our facialist tells

us, “You’re more likely to nd these products in a plastic surgery clinic than a spa.”

She began with a luxurious warming honey cleanser followed by a rich rosemary and algae mud masque to

purify pores. Next came a rather vicious citric acid masque and a spritzing of copper mist, which enhances collagen. After an hour of pummelling, peeling, zzing and – on occasion – what felt like our face almost melting off, our therapist told us, “You better be going to the Oscars with skin like that.” If only!

After a chill out on the fth-foor pool deck with our soothing ginger and lemon tea looking out to the Hollywood sign, it was time for our Pure Pedicure. A lavender scrub, moisturising ginger masque and slick of organic polish later and our feet were ready for revelry.

Other spa treatments available include vibration therapy, acupuncture and cupping. Meanwhile, studio classes aren’t for the faint-hearted, such as a 60-minute bootcamp and barre, which involves doing ballet moves on a 4ft bar!

Where can I dine? An American-style breakfast at Preston’s at the Loews sets us up for a day of sightseeing. We indulged with the lemon ricotta corn cakes with macerated blueberries – but the H2 Kitchen & Bar is where it’s really going on. The centrepiece of the Loews lobby, it’s the place to be seen – but only when you’ve got an appropriately titled cocktail in your hand, such as the The Call Back and Paparazzi. By evening, it becomes quite the social club, with leather bar chairs and a Swarovski crystal chandelier out to steal the limelight from the VIPs. But while the surroundings are glam, the menu still caters for the all-American palate, with treats such as oh-

mommy wings and apple cider sliders. During Oscars weekend, the lobby is abuzz with action and guests will enjoy 216 bottles of bubbles and 10,000 appetisers. On show night, H2 serves a whopping 2,000 drinks! Not surprisingly, the next morning, the hotel will bring in an additional 60 coffee pots to liven up the party-fatigued.

What else can I do?Once you’ve placed your hands in the prints left by the stars outside the Chinese Theatre and seen how many of the 1.3 miles of celebs on the Walk Of Fame you can tick off, ee the tourism of the strip and head to the Hollywood Hills.

Horse riding at Sunset Ranch through Gri th Park and up to the Hollywood sign will make your holiday photo album complete. Victoria Beckham chose to do exactly that for her 40th birthday. Across the park, the Gri th Observatory has free entry and telescopes, so you can watch the stars by night (it closes at 10pm). Just a few blocks away is the Hollywood farmer’s Market every Sunday on Ivar Avenue and Selma Avenue. grab a healthy lunch and stroll the stalls while listening to street musicians. Across the road from the Loews is the unremarkable Snow White Café on Hollywood Boulevard – that is until you get inside. The walls are adorned with original drawings by Disney animators who were practising for the Snow White And The Seven Dwarfs movie.

How to get thereRoom rates at the Loews Hollywood (loewshotels.com; 001 855 563 9749) start from Dhs895 for weekends and Dhs960 for weekdays. Rates are based on two people sharing. Treatments at the hotel’s exhale Spa (exhalespa.com) start at Dhs355. Turkish Airlines y to Los Angeles from Abu Dhabi via Istanbul. For more information, visit turkishairlines.com

3 David says of Brooklyn, Romeo and Cruz, “The boys are all good-looking, they are all polite, they are all very fun-loving, and so I think they’re all going to be lady killers.”

“I KIND OF WISH I HAD [BROOKLYN’S] HAIR. IT’S VERY COOL.”

“What matters is being a good father and a good husband – just being connected to family as much as possible.”

5 “I really am [a house husband]. But I love it,” David says of his retirement from football. “I’ve been lucky, I’ve always been able to take the boys to school in the mornings and pick them up and make them dinner and things like that. So I do even more of that.”

I had to walk out because Brooklyn was sort of looking at me out the corner of his eye and laughing. I was thinking, ‘I need to get out of here because this is a serious talk.’ I was very uncomfortable.”

10 “In my career there’s many things I’ve won, and many things I’ve achieved,” he said. “But my greatest achievement is my family.”

11 When he and Harper were caught on the Kiss Cam at an L.A. Kings hockey game.

13 “I was bathing Harper and had got her out and was towelling her down when she said, ‘Daddy I love you, but I don’t like you, you’re so chubby!’ I didn’t think I was,” David told Jimmy Kimmel recently.

9 “Harper just loves fairies,” he’s said of his three-year-old daughter. “She’s all about fairies and princesses, so I’m reading fairy books at the moment.”

“[Harper] gets her outfi t ready the night before and then she gets up in the morning, we go down to get her ready and she changes her mind. So then, by this time, we’re in a rush,” he says of the family’s morning routine. “Then I’m in the room with Harper trying to pick out outfi ts and anything which I pick out which I think looks great, she puts back in.”

14 When his middle son, Burberry model, Romeo, got embarrassed about dad kissing him in front of his friends, David said, “Victoria reminded them they had a cool dad, but it made no difference.”
