Road Hazards

• Driving is the most likely cause of oilfield fatalities

• Roads contain rocks, dust, heavy traffic, and animals

• Weather can change over long distances, check during pretrip

• Long hours make drivers drowsy

• Stressful work makes drivers distracted

Driving Protection• Seatbelts save lives

• Mobile phones must not be used

• Hands-free have not been shown to be any safer

• Pull over to make calls, check before reentering road

• Keep vehicle in good condition

• Check tires, lugs, lights, and loads

Lease Road Hazards

• Wash outs

• Narrow lanes and missing shoulders

• Berms, embankments, cliffs

• Flying rocks

• Standing water and running water

Rigsite Arrival

• Follow all warning signs

• Park in designated spaces

• Back in to leave faster in emergencies

• Do not drive within guy wires/rig anchors

• Make sure you understand the meet and greet after arrival
