Oil interceptors are capable of separating insoluble oils, such as engine oil and pure diesel

from water permitting the output to flow into normal water courses. However, with the

introduction of bio-diesel oil interceptors are now defeated as the bio-part of the diesel,

usually Ethanol is soluble and emulsifies in the water thus is able to pass through oil

interceptors into the environment causing major environmental damage.

 

The solution we offer eliminates the need to replace existing oil interceptors with Full

Retention types. We offer a retro fit fully ATEX certified Zone 1 Flapstopper valve that is

inserted in series with the output from the existing interceptor that can be activated at the

push of a button to close the interceptor's outlet in less than a second upon the

occurrence of a spill of bio-diesel - thus locking off the interceptor and protecting the

environment.
