Simple Design in an Integrated Package

In a centrifugal compressor the most criticalcomponent, the impeller/pinion rotatingassembly, simply spins imparting velocity tothe air and converting that velocity energy topressure. The overall design is amazingly simple and allcomponents, including inter-stage andaftercoolers, are integral to the package foreasy installation.

Greater Capacity and 30% Energy Savings

In addition, gradually stepping up the pressureover three stages allows the efficientcentrifugal to achieve peak performance andenjoy an even greater increase in energyefficiency. With greater capacity to start withand no loss of capacity over its operating life,Ingersoll-Rand’s three stage centrifugal,compared to a competitive two-stage oil-freerotary screw, can realise up to 30% in energysavings over its total life cycle.

The IR 3-stage centrifugal begins with as much as a 15% capacity advantage over a 2-stageoil-free rotary screw. That advantage widens to as much as 30% as the centrifugal capacityremains constant and the competitive rotary screw capacity degrades up to 15%.
