STUDENT WELFARE

Pastoral Care

Our main concern is that students are happy and having the best summer experience ever. So, we have non-academic staff available at all times to help students settle in and to provide any support they need.

Our Programme Director (PD), assisted by Junior Directors (JD), is responsible for the daily running of the summer school. They are resident in the College for the duration of the programme, and are always close by should they be needed.

Our team of Counsellors are also on site and available to attend to any welfare or pastoral issues. They are assisted by our team of Student Helpers who will act as the local experts, showing students around Oxford, asssiting with organising social activites, and accompanying students on excursion.

At CfL Oxford Academy, we pride ourselves on the exceptional levels of supervision and pastoral care we provide to our students 24/7, ensuring their study experience is safe, supportive and stimulating.

All staff monitor students’ progress, interaction with fellow students as well as their happiness, comfort and well-being.

Should students require medical assistance, they have access to staff with First Aid qualifications, the college doctor, or a nearby 24-hour Accident and Emergency hospital department.

Safety and Security on Campus

Oxford colleges, with manned gates and perimeter walls, are secure places. Merton and Christ Church colleges have enhanced this with a number of additional security measures. These include closed circuit television surveillance on College premises. In addition the College gates are locked at night and there is a separate team of custodial staff whose duties include security of entrance gates.
