the result – ship design second to none.
Rolls-Royce offers the nVC 400 range of dry cargo vessels, and the nVC 600 series of tankers and liquid gas carriers. they
use a systematic design approach which runs through the range of vessel types and sizes, but within each type the design
is optimised to meet your requirements.
the vessels form a family based on the Rolls-Royce environship concept. this brings to the market extensive research
into ship hydrodynamics, structures and propulsion. the result is high efficiency, optimised revenue-earning cargo spaces
and handling system, lower resistance, and reduced accelerations and speed loss in a seaway.
nVC 400 series designs include container vessels up to about 2,500 teU, bulk carriers up to about 40,000 DWt,
multipurpose dry cargo vessels and smaller specialised vessels. The NVC 600 family ranges from tanker designs to IMO II
from 5,000 to 25,000 DWT for chemicals and oil products to LNG feeder/distribution vessels and LNG bunkering vessels to
suit the expanding LnG infrastructure.

Combined anchor- and mooring winches
mooring winches
anchoring and mooring systems to suit your vessel
Rolls-Royce provides a comprehensive range of mooring and anchoring winches for cargo carrying vessels. the winches
are based on a modular design, which allows the winches to be tailored to meet the vessel’s requirements effectively and
economically. our winches are available with three main types of drives to best suit the particular application.
the low-pressure hydraulic driven winches are well known for their reliability and inherent robustness. Another key
feature of the low-pressure winches is dynamic lowering, which allows the anchor to be paid out at speeds up to 40 metres
per minute using the hydraulic motor. this allows a very controlled lowering operation with a minimum of risk and no wear
to the mechanical brake. With high-pressure hydraulic winches installation is easy and the competitive system design is
well known in the marine industry. Stall characteristics and low speed performance are also excellent for these winches.
our electric drive is available in two types. three speed pole-change drives offer precise single lever control using
a simple system design. The system is very robust and easy to troubleshoot. Frequency-converter driven winches allow
stepless speed control and very low noise operation.

all the power you ask for
to achieve the optimum solution for your cargo carrier you need a reliable partner who knows your business
and keeps your vessel going, year in, year out. Rolls-Royce offers a range of tough and proven medium diesel
and gas engines that meet your power requirements efficiently and reliably.
With focus on emissions and the introduction of ECAs (Emission Control Areas), shipowners are turning to
LnG as a fuel. Rolls-Royce is market leader in single fuel gas engines, drawing on experience with over 600 gas
engines in service at sea and on land. these LnG-fuelled engines offer greatly reduced emissions of Co2 and
nox , without smoke or soot. they can be used for mechanical drive to the propeller, or to power generator
sets.
Rolls-Royce technology meets your requirements in terms of power, lifecycle costs and future
environmental regulations. It all adds up to reliable performance, long-term durability and easy operation.

Global service and support
operational availability must be maintained today in the most
cost-effective way. Variable market conditions and increasing
competition should not undermine safe ship operations.
therefore, we work closely with our customers to support their
fleets, ensuring that they are operating safely and at maximum
efficiency, with the goal of virtually eliminating unscheduled
downtime.
a comprehensive menu of service solutionsWe are proud of the performance of our systems, and are keen
to ensure that they continue to operate at their peak throughout
their lifetime. our services now range from conventional product
support, with no impact on ship availability, through to a range
of equipment and system support packages with levels of vessel
performance and availability agreed, normally within a long-term
risk and reward-sharing partnership called MarineCare.
Single point of contactAs we have progressively increased the breadth of our product
range, we have continued investing heavily in the facilities
and the talent needed to support them. As multiproduct
installations are becoming standard on a growing number of
vessels, customers benefit from a single point of contact for
support, which is usually the nearest Rolls-Royce regional centre
to the vessel’s location.
reducing through life costsReducing operating costs and maximising availability is our
objective. this has led us to work closer with a number of
our customers in maintenance planning and recommending
spares holding. By being involved from the start we have the
opportunity to focus on the activities that make a difference,
acquiring and pre-positioning service or exchange parts to
ensure a smoother overhaul process, saving time spent in dock.
Committed to meeting different needsAbove all, at the centre of our support philosophy, is recognition
that all customers have different and often unique require-
ments, based on their fleet operations. Whatever the mix
of requirements, Rolls-Royce is committed to meeting or
exceeding them.
product trainingAt Rolls-Royce we believe that regular training ensures that you
will get the most out of a vessel’s equipment and systems, and
it also ensures that they are operated and maintained efficiently
and safely.
experienced and informed people are a key asset.
As technology advances, so must the competence levels of
operators and service personnel. We therefore offer a range of
tailored training courses and programmes in state-of-the-art
facilities equipped with the latest simulators and training aids.
Our support teams, located worldwide, are committed to helping you
manage the vital balance between operational availability and cost. Wherever
your vessel is located, rolls-royce support is close at hand.
