DEAR READER,Summer brings with it sunshine, barbies and plenty

o’ bare legs alongside hundreds of festivals. Yet

none of them are quite as seductive to the ears, or

eclectic, as London’s Offset Festival.

Now in our fifth year, the line-up has never been so

striking. The Mystery Jets bring their beautiful folk rock

to the mainstage for Saturday evening alongside the

textured majesty of New York’s Liquid Liquid.

Closing the weekend Germany’s political, techno

group Atari Teenage Riot are supported by the

lush, musical panorama of Caribou. In this issue

of Offset magazine we look back to how it all began,

delve deeper into who you’ll be hearing

from in 2011 and remember

the 2009 headliner Arianne

Foster of The Slits. We’ll also be

adorning, pampering and serenading you for

the summer’s festivities.
