Dear Colleagues,

Greetings!

The theme of this year’s convention is “POGS Overcoming Women Health Issues through Empowerment and Responsibility”. In short, we call it #pogspower2018. This is a take-off from last year’s theme “Renew, Restore, and

Revitalize”, and a segue to 2019 AOFOG Congress in the Philippines with the theme “Strengthening the Road to Women’s Health”. As members of POGS who had been renewed, restored and revitalized, this year we will have the empowerment and responsibility to deal with women’s health issues to further strengthen it as we join next year our Asia and Oceania neighbors in our exchange of ideas.

On behalf of the POGS Board of Trustees and the Organizing Committee, I am pleased to invite you to join us in this year’s 2018 Annual convention as POGS turn 72 in its years of existence.

We have prepared a scientific program that further expands our knowledge and capability on overcoming health issues that beset women. This is our responsibility as the primary care giver of women. Our responsibility further goes into the minutest details of delivering this health care and services. It is also a fitting reminder to our colleagues that with great power of healing comes great responsibility of health care.

Aside from the scientific sessions that highlight the intellect and capability of our guest speakers and members, we have also prepared other activities that celebrate the qualities of our members in terms of brains, beauty and talent. We will have activities for our honorees and awardees, fellowship and camaraderie, sports and business matters, and recognition of our new diplomates and fellows.

The members of the organizing committee have prepared the convention with two words in mind: Empowerment and Responsibility, especially to our members and participants. Much as we have limitations as to areas in PICC and Sofitel for the activities, the increasing number of participants due to memberships and CPD units and other concerns, the Organizing Committee has increased the number of people in anticipation of the needs of the participants, and we will initiate the use of technology to improve the systems and to adapt to changes as necessary. We hope to please you as you attend. We hope that this year POGS Annual convention will be a success along with your appreciation. Your support and commitment to the society will make it come true.

Again, my warmest welcome to you and wish for an empowered and productive convention.

Mabuhay at magandang pagkikita sa inyong lahat. God bless us all.
