Investment HighlightsGurnee is a village in Lake County, Illinois, United States. It borders the city of Waukegan and is considered a part of the Chicago metropolitan area. It is best known for being the location of Six Flags Great America and Gurnee Mills, together drawing over 26 million visitors annually and this multi-tenant retail property is located on Grand Avenue (Illinois 132) right off of Interstate 94.

In 1835, a land company from New York State erected a Community House to accom-modate families while they were locating and getting government land grants to their farms. Near the Community House, a floating log bridge was built in 1842. Later, a station-ary wooden bridge was constructed, and then an iron bridge was erected.

With the erection of the permanent bridge, roads were established, and this area be-came the hub of the township. It was at this junction that the Milwaukee Road crossed the river from west to east, and then continued north to eventually connect Chicago to Milwaukee. The east-west road, now known as Grand Avenue, was a main route from McHenry County to the port of Waukegan.

In early 1973 the Marriott Corporation approached the village stating that they wanted to build an amusement park near the interchange of Highway 132 and the tollway. The people of Gurnee voted to approve the construction of the facility, known today as Six Flags Great America. In 2008 KeyLime Cove Indoor Waterpark Resort opened and it sits less than a half mile from the property.
