PENN STATE
admissions.psu.edu/transfer
Accept your offer of admission online through MyPennState at admissions.psu.edu/mypennstate (click on Accept your offer of admission), or sign and return the Acceptance Notification you received with your offer of admis-sion along with the acceptance fee. If accepting by mail, please keep a copy of the signed Accep-tance Notification for your records. Please note the reply date on the Acceptance Notification from Penn State; replying after that date may void your offer of admission.
When you accept your offer of admission, we need to provide you with a permanent Penn State account known as a Penn State Access Account. Activating your Penn State Access Account will be the first step in accepting your offer of admission. Your Access Account will allow you to use LionPATH, Penn State’s enroll-ment management system. Through LionPATH, you will view your student aid package, sched-ule classes, pay your tuition, and conduct other business with the University. You can activate your Penn State Access Account now before accepting your offer of admission in order to see your financial aid package when it becomes available. You’ll find instructions on activating your account on MyPennState where you see your admission decision. Activating your Penn State Access Account prior to accepting your offer of admission does not obli-gate you to attend Penn State.
Admission Checklist
Fill out the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) on-line at fafsa.ed.gov if you haven’t already done so. Penn State’s priority filing date is February 15, and our school code is 003329. Visit the Office of Student Aid website, studentaid.psu.edu, for more information.
As a transfer student, you are en-couraged to contact an academic adviser within the college to which you have been admitted to discuss your transfer credits and Penn State requirements for your major. When discussing transfer credit, you should reference the Evaluation of Transferable Credit that accompanied your offer of ad-mission. A list of phone numbers and websites for the colleges is in-cluded in the “Contacts” section.
Attend Transfer Student Orientation. Information about making your reservation will be sent after you accept your offer of admission. You will be meeting with an academic adviser during Transfer Student Orientation. Please bring the Evaluation of Transferable Credit included with your offer of admis-sion, as well as the course catalog from your other college(s) and/or an outline or the syllabus for each course you took. This information will help your adviser determine the best use of your credits toward your degree. You can find more in-formation about Transfer Student Orientation at orientation.psu.edu.

Admission to a CollegeIf you have been offered admission to an academic college rather than to a specific major (e.g. Liberal Arts rather than Economics), it means that approval must be received from the college dean’s office before you can be assigned to your desired major. Students typically must meet entrance-to-major require-ments, which can include achievement of a specific Penn State GPA and com-pletion of prerequisite courses with specified minimum grades. Consult your academic adviser for specific information on admission to a major.
UNDERSTANDING THE EVALUATION OF TRANSFERABLE CREDIT FORM
Please use the following information to understand how your coursework was evaluated:
• Completed Courses: The credits listed are forcourses completed at other regionally accreditedinstitution(s) where you received a grade of C(2.0) or higher.
• Test Credit: Credit can can be awarded basedupon exam results for certain tests such as AdvancedPlacement (AP) exams and the College-LevelExamination Program (CLEP). Details on academiccredit awarded for these types of examinations canbe found here: http://admissions.psu.edu/academics/credit/.

More information about types of credit awarded can be found within the Evaluation of Transferable Credit form you received with your offer of admission.
CREDIT HOURS
Penn State awards semester hours of credits, so your transferable credits are listed in semester credits. If you attended a school on a quarter-hour system, credits have been multiplied by two-thirds to convert them to semester credits.
USING TRANSFERABLE CREDITS AT PENN STATE
Transferable credits may be used to fulfill degree requirements, as well as General Education require-ments, and are applied to a student’s program of study at the discretion of the academic college of enrollment, not Undergraduate Admissions.
Students must earn at least 36 of the last 60 credits of a baccalaureate program or 18 of the last 30 cred-its of an associate degree at Penn State in order to receive a Penn State degree.
