Accept your offer of admission online through MyPennState at admissions.psu.edu/mypennstate (click on Accept your offer of admission), or sign and return the Acceptance Notification you received with your offer of admission along with the acceptance fee. If accepting by mail, please keep a copy of the signed Acceptance Notification for your records. Please note the reply date on the Acceptance Notification from Penn State; replying after that date may void your offer of admission.
Fill out the Free Application for Federal Stu-dent Aid (FAFSA) online at fafsa.ed.gov if you haven’t already done so. Penn State’s priority filing date is February 15, and our school code is 003329. Visit the Office of Student Aid website, studentaid.psu.edu, for more information.
Take part in Penn State’s New Student Orienta-tion, designed to help prepare you for course selection and life as a Penn State student. During New Student Orientation, you will meet with academic advisers who will talk with you about your educational plans and help you select your first-semester courses. You will learn what it means to be a member of the Penn State
Admission Checklistcommunity and discuss opportunities in and out of the classroom. Online placement testing begins in early March and continues on a rolling basis through the summer. You will receive more information about taking the placement tests and scheduling our New Student Orientation after accepting your offer of admission. Learn more about New Student Orientation at orientation.psu.edu.
Pay your semester bill. Tuition bills are gener-ated by the Office of the Bursar on June 1 for Summer Session and on August 1 for the fall semester and can be paid online through your LionPATH Student Center (lionpath.psu.edu). When your bill is ready, you will receive an email at your Penn State email address with instructions on how to complete payment. Please visit bursar.psu.edu for more information on semester bills and payment plan options.

If you have any health problems (physical or emotional) that limit your activity, please notify University Health Services of your situation and anticipated needs as soon as possible.

Admission to a CollegeIf you have been offered admission to an academic college rather than to a specific major (e.g. Liberal Arts rather than Economics), it means that approval must be received from the college dean’s office before you can be assigned to your desired major. Students typically must meet entrance-to-major require-ments, which can include achievement of a specific Penn State GPA and com-pletion of prerequisite courses with specified minimum grades. Consult your academic adviser for specific information on admission to a major.
UNDERSTANDING THE EVALUATION OF TRANSFERABLE CREDIT FORM
If you previously attended another regionally ac-credited college or university, we will have reviewed your transcript from the institution(s) you attended and added the credits you completed to your Penn State record. With your offer of admission, you would have received the Evaluation of Transferable Credit form. Please use the following information to understand how your coursework was evaluated:
• Completed Courses: The credits listed are for courses completed at other regionally accredited institution(s) where you received a grade of C (2.0) or higher.
• Unsatisfactory Courses: Credits for courses in which you received a grade below C (2.0) will not be transferred to Penn State.
• Course Grades: Course grades are not trans-ferred to your Penn State record and will not be included in the calculation of your GPA at Penn State.
• Pending Evaluation: An incoming course without an existing Penn State evaluation will be assigned a TRN XFRPEN code. Once you provide Undergraduate Admissoins with a course syl-labus, faculty within that department will review the information to determine the Penn State course equivalency.
• Courses Taken on a Pass/Fail Basis: Credit for courses taken on a pass/fail or satisfactory/unsat-isfactory basis can be considered only if we have official verification from the college or university that the grades earned were equivalent to C (2.0) or higher.
• Credit by Examination: Credit for courses taken through the credit by examination program at another school typically cannot be transferred to Penn State.
COURSE EQUIVALENTS AND GENERAL CREDIT
You will note that transferable credits are indicated as either specific Penn State course equivalents, or as general credits. Penn State course credit is listed when coursework taken at another school is sub-stantially equivalent to a specific Penn State course. General credit is assigned when a course from another school carries a different number of credits, is a 400-level course, or the course content appears to be substantially different from a Penn State course. Ask your academic adviser how courses transferred as general credit might work to fulfill degree requirements.
More information about types of credit awarded can be found within the Evaluation of Transferable Credit.
A Guide for Students Changing to Degree Status
CREDIT HOURS
Penn State awards semester hours of credit and your transferable credits are listed in semester credits. If you attended a school on a quarter-hour system, credits have been multiplied by two-thirds to convert them to semester credits.
USING TRANSFERABLE CREDITS AT PENN STATE
Transferable credits may be used to fulfill degree requirements, as well as General Education require-ments, and are applied to a student’s program of study at the discretion of the academic college of enrollment.
Students must earn at least 36 of the last 60 credits of a baccalaureate program, or 18 of the last 30 credits of an associate degree, at Penn State in order to receive a Penn State degree.

Conditions of Our Offer of Admission• World Language: Two units in a single world
language other than English are required. American Sign Language can be used to satisfy the World Language requirement. A student may be admit-ted with fewer than two units in a world language other than English, but must correct this deficien-cy by the time s/he graduates from Penn State. This deficiency may be corrected by passing one three- or four-credit college-level world language course, by earning transferable credits from another institution, or by demonstrating proficiency equivalent to two units of high school world language study.
• Full Disclosure: The offer of admission may become invalid if information on your admission application or about your educational history is omitted or misrepresented.
IF YOU DECIDE TO CANCEL: If at any time
you decide not to attend Penn State, please email us
about your plans at [email protected] or use the
Offer Decline function in MyPennState. If you decide
not to attend after accepting your offer of admission,
we cannot refund your acceptance fees.
