WHEREAS it is expedient further to amend the Indian Tariff Aot, 1894 ; I t is hereby enaoted as

follows :- I. (1) ThiaeAct may be called the Indian Tariff short title

(Amendment) Act, 1906 ; and ~ n a om- mencement.

(2) It shall come into force on the twenty-~ixth day of February, 1906.

2. I n No. 1 of Schedule I11 of the Indian Tariff Amendment Act, 1894, as amended by the IndianTariff Act (1894) $~~~~ Amendment Act, 1896,- VIII of

(a) Rs. 10 " shall be substituted for ' L Rs. 6 " in 1894. the fourth oolumn as the rate of duty t o be levied and collected per Imperial Gallon or six quart bottles of C' liqueurs ", and

(b) for the following, namoly :- - -

An Act to amend the Sindh Incumbered Es- tates Act, 1896,

WHEB;eA$ it is expedient to amend the Sindh A I I

,p: 1896, Incumbered Estates Act, 1896 ; I t is hereby enacted - I I as follows :--

1. This Act mag be called the Sindh Incumbered Short title. Estates (Amendment) Act, 19Q6.

2. I n section 2 of the Sindh Incumbered Estate8 Amendment of 1896. Act, 1896, there shall be substituted- of A C ~ XX,

1896, seotion (a) in olause (2), far the words g c and to whom, 2-

or to whose ancestor, a sanad has been, or hereafter may be, granted confirming such continuance " the words '( as a jsgir," and

(6) in clause (3), for the words commencement of this Act " the words and figure " mak- ing of an application under section 3 by or in respeot of or on behalf of such person."

3. Section 6 of the said Act shall be renumbered Amendment 5 ( I ) , and the following shall be inserted thereafter, ~ ~ o t i o n 6-

namely :-- "(2) Every direction given under sub-section (I)

shall be deemed to afford protection to sureties of the debtor as well as to the debtor himself, unless in any ease a surety has, by his bond, expressly aocepted liability thereunder in the event of an order being made in respect of the debtor's property under seo- tion 7, sub-section (2), clause (c)."

4. After clause (2) of section 9 of the said Act Amendment the following shall be inserted, namely :-- of seotion Q

(2a) clauses (1) and (2) sball be deemed to afford proteotion to sureties of the debtor as well as

" (2) Whenever the manager sets aside or cancels a loase under sub-section ( I ) , he shall, by written order, award to the lessee such compensation, i f any, as may appear to the manager to be equitable in the circumstances ; and, subjeot to the provisions of Chapter VT, no compensation in excess of the amount so awarded shall be recoverable by the lessee in a givil Oourt or otherwise.
