LIFE CAN CHANGE IN AN INSTANT.Anthony’s life changed when a
roadside bomb blew up the truck
he was driving. The injuries he
sustained while serving were
devastating, and his odds of survival
were slim. Third-degree burns
covered most of his body, and he
spent three months in a coma.
FIGHTING A NEW BATTLE.Anthony’s journey to recovery would
require him to spend two grueling
years in the hospital and endure
more than 70 surgeries. He
persevered, but the emotional
effects of his injuries took a toll. Shy
and timid about his appearance, he
withdrew from friends, and from the
outside world.
COMING BACK TO LIFE.Thanks to generous supporters like
you, Anthony was able to connect
with other injured veterans through
Wounded Warrior Project® (WWP)
programs and services and restore
his self-confidence. Today, he gives
back by helping other warriors on
their journeys to recovery. “We don’t
judge each other, and it makes me
feel pretty awesome that my
experiences can help others deal
with their experiences.”

“Before I discovered WWP, I was shy and timid about my looks and appearance. I withdrew from people. Now, it’s like I’m carefree. I’m more outgoing than ever.”
We believe that all warriors have a positive future to look forward to, and we are dedicated to helping him or her get there.

“Spending time with other warriors allows you to rebuild bonds with your brothers and sisters in arms and allows you to rebuild the connections we once had.”
WWP connection events help bring warriors out of isolation and connect them with their peers, families and communities, and to the programs that aid in their transition back into civilian life.

We direct every dollar donated to helping warriors achieve their highest ambition — no matter what that looks like. With your support, we get results.
Moved by stories of the first wounded service
members returning home from Afghanistan and
Iraq, several veterans and friends took action to
help others in need, and WWP was born. Now, 15
years later, the lives of millions of warriors and their
families have been improved through lifesaving
WWP programs and advocacy efforts.

“After I got out of the Marine Corps, I shut myself inside the house and didn’t want to leave. You helped me get out and realize there was still life left to be lived.”
“The Physical Health and Wellness program helped me feel better in the clothes I was wearing. I had confidence in myself again — like I used to when I was in the Marine Corps. I hadn’t felt that in over a decade.”

“The Warriors to Work® program is taking war veterans and matching them with veteran-friendly employers. Unfortunately, veterans spend months looking for work after separation [from the military]. This program bridges that gap.”
“Jason is part of the Independence Program — that’s the biggest impact on his life in the long term. It will be there when my husband and I are no longer around to take care of him.”
