Instruction to ContributorsThe authors are invited to submit their manuscripts in English for journal. In order to speed up the process and publishing, authors must follow these guidelines. Manuscripts that do not follow the guidelines will be rejected or returned to the authors for correction before any decision is taken as to their acceptance for publication.SubmissionManuscripts and book reviews should be submitted as an e-mail attachment. Hard copies shall be addressed to The Editor, Salesian Journal of Humanities & Social Sciences, Salesian College, Post Box - 73, Siliguri, 734001, India. The e-mail attachment should be sent to [email protected]. Books for review should be sent to the Salesian College address mentioned above. Articles should be type written, one and half space with footnoting in Chicago Manual as follows:eg; for books: Arvind Krishna Mehrotra, A Concise History of Indian Literature in English, (London: University Press), 2003, p.5.eg; for Articles: Anisur Rahman, “On Translating Modern Urdu Poetry” in Indian Literature, S.No.185, Vol XLII, (May-June 1998) No.3, 163-176.Technical requirements1. Font should be Book Antiqua; text, indented text and footnotes will be in font sizes 11, 10 and 9 respectively. The journal size: 160 mm x 240 mm. The

print area: 198 mm x 115 mm.2. The whole text, including figure captions, table headings, tables, etc, should be typed in one and half space.3. Leave at least 1.5 cm margins on all sides.4. The illustrations should be numbered consecutively and to be explained.5. All the articles must include an abstract of 200 words and carry contributor‘s affiliation(s) and complete postal and e-mail addresses.6. Diacritical marks may be used. SALESIAN Journal of Humanities and Social Sciences is published half-yearly by the various departments of Salesian College and is edited under the responsibility of Salesian College Publication. Its main scope is to foster a keen sense of research and methodology among the aspiring academicians of Darjeeling, North Bengal and beyond. It also seeks to highlight their works and bring to light their diverse views on different subjects. Published with an aim to seek the ultimate truth behind attaining higher education, it remains open to diverse viewpoints in a spirit of dialogue and search for deeper truth, wherever it is found.
