Based on the tourist administration commitment to Sustainable Development mass tourism can’t be regarded as on option for the country in the 21st century. While learning the lessons from other tourist regions around the world the following Goals and targets are highlighted:

In this aspect the newly established Sector for Tourism and Local Economic Development in the Municipality of Ohrid is making the first steps towards sustainable development.
