The Sacrament of Penance
In addition to our regular scheduled weekly confession opportunity each Saturday at 11:30 am and 25 minutes be-fore Monday and Friday evenings Masses the Sacrament of Penance will be available at the following Penance Ser-vices: 6:30 pm, Tuesday, Dec. 10th Our Lady of Sorrows
6 pm, Wednesday, Dec. 11th St. Patrick, Bloomington
6:30 pm, Monday, Dec. 16th Cathedral of Our Lady of Victory
6:30 pm, Tuesday, Dec. 17th St. Mary’s
6:30 pm, Thursday, Dec. 19th Holy Family
Penance is an experience of the gift of God’s boundless mercy.
Not only does the Sacrament of Penance free us from our sins but it also challenging us to have the same kind of compassion and forgiveness for those who sin against us. We are liberated to be forgivers. We obtain new insights into the words of the Prayer of St. Francis: “It is in pardon-ing that we are pardoned.”

Around the parish…..
On behalf of the recipients on this
year’s Giving Tree, I would like to
extend a special thank you to our
parishioners that provided Christ-
mas gifts for those in need this
year.
There were lots of smiles and
shrills from the children as the
families received their bundles of beautifully wrapped
gifts. The special “Thinking of You” gifts for the Seafar-
ers and elderly were so meaningful.
All the youth and adults involved in the overnight lock-
In were extremely helpful and we all had so much fun
into the wee hours of the morning! Gratitude goes out
to those of you that delivered the gifts and the minis-
ters that distributed the gifts to the nursing home resi-
dents and homebound.
As the world celebrates in the wonder of His birth, may
you and your families be blessed with a joyous Christ-
mas filled with peace and much happiness in the New
Year.
The Altar Society of Holy Family has
cookbooks for sale. Volumes 1 and
Volume 2 are $10. each and are auto-

nice gift. Please see Elizabeth in the office to purchase a

Third Week of Advent – One Prayer a Day for Advent
I lift my heart up to you, Lord,
to thank you for the blessings
you shower on me each day.
You are the 'joy of my soul.'
I know that in your great love,
I am held and protected by you.
I pray and listen to the good news you send;
I ask and feel the healing.
I am freed by you
from the things in this world
that let me hide from you.
I rejoice, I rejoice, down to my soul.
Help me to prepare my heart
to be open and able to receive your immense love. Amen.
