EAR TAG NUMBERS AND CIDs

All Vendors, prior to collecting their lot numbers must hand into the Auctioneers Office the complete list of ear-tag

numbers, passports and where appropriate, their Cattle Identification Documents. This information will be passed onto

the Purchasers as it is given by the Vendor and the Auctioneers accept no responsibility for its correctness.

RICS Client Money Protection Scheme

All financial transactions within this market are conducted with the Auctioneers acting as principal. Sale proceeds

are not paid into a client bank account and, consequently, the RICS Client Money Protection Scheme (CMPS) will

not apply to protect the vendor.

WARNING

It is critical that the correct ages of the cattle are given out at the time of sale. Any discrepancies in ages arising

following the sale shall be the responsibility of the Vendor. CONDITIONS OF SALE

All stock is sold under the terms of our Conditions of Sale, which are on display in our Livestock Market Office.

REMOVAL OF STOCK

Hauliers will be in attendance and Auctioneers will be pleased to arrange transportation.

TIME OF SALE

Would all Vendors and Purchasers please note that the starting time of the sale will be 10.30am. The Auctioneers would

ask all Vendors to make every effort to ensure that their stock is penned by 10.00 am. Staff will be on hand to assist with

the unloading of stock from 7.00 am on the morning of the sale. Any cattle not penned by 10.00 am will not be

DANGEROUS ANIMALS

Please do not bring any cattle into the market which you know are dangerous or uncontrollable. We cannot accept liability for any

such animals if they break out of the market whilst they are being unloaded or transferred to their pens. Because the market is located

in a town, the potential damage that can be caused by an ‘escaped beast’ is enormous and we would ask owners of these animals to

consider carefully if they are safe to bring to a public place.

IMPORTANT NOTICE

It is the Vendor’s responsibility to provide the correct documentation to accompany each animal. Purchasers

shall have 4 days from the day of the sale to check that any cattle documents they receive are accurate. After

this period the Auctioneers will not accept any responsibility for resolving any dispute. Within the time period,

the Purchaser can, at the Vendor’s expense, after 20 days return to the Vendor any beast or alternatively, claim

from the Vendor any premium lost as a result of the Vendor’s inaccurate description of the animal’s

documentation.

GUIDANCE ON BIO-SECURITY AT MARKET

1. All loaded vehicles must have a fully completed owner’s declaration relating to

livestock which must be shown at the market entrance.

2. Clean rubber boots and waterproofs must be worn and disinfected prior to entry to animal penning area.

3. Access to animals will be provided to registered persons only at a single point adjacent to market office.

4. Footwear must be cleansed and disinfected at all identified control points.

5 All visitors are requested to abide by the Bio-Security instructions posted at various locations throughout the market.

6. Vehicles unloading stock must disinfect trailer/lorry wheels prior to exiting market.

Trailers will be allowed out of market without

complete cleansing and disinfection as long as they cleanse and disinfect within 24 hours at home.

However, any trailers returning to pick up unsold stock will first need to cleanse and disinfect on the lorry wash.

7. Purchaser’s lorries/trailers will be allowed in with a cleansing and disinfection

certificate or will be allowed to cleanse and disinfect on site and seal only if picking up stock

8. All livestock must be removed from the premises on the day to allow cleansing and disinfection of site by market staff.

9. Please note that movement of animals back on to the farm will trigger the 6 day

standstill on storestock and fatstock off movements.
