Tasteless mixture of Gases. It Consists
of various gases.

HOW AIR IS COMPRESSED
Air is compressed with the help of a machine called Air Compressor. An Air Compressor is a machine designed to store Air under Pressure
and release the pressurized air in a controlled fashion.

BASIC PARAMETERS
Pressure:- Like all fluids, the air exerts a pressure on everything. Pressure is force per unit AreaMeasured in Bar, kg/cm2, psi etc.
FAD:- Free Air Delivery is capacity of Air Compressor which means Delivered Air quantity corrected to the suction conditions.Measured in cfm, L/Sec etc.
Power :- Compressor is powered by an external source like motor/Engine. Power of the external source is power of Air Compressor.Measured in KW, HP etc.
AIR COMPRESSOR
An Air Compressor is a machine that increases the amount of air in particular space. By packing in the air, the pressure of air increased
which creates the force which can be used for various purposes from industrial, commercial to personal.

AIR COMPRESSOR TYPE
Based on mode of operation
Air Compressor
Positive Displacement
Dynamic OR Negative Displacement
Positive Displacement :- This type of Compressors works by filling and emptying a chamber hence to build pressure.
Dynamic Displacement :- This type of air compressor generates compression by accelerating and then decelerating air with help of rotating device. This process uses speed of air to increase pressure.

Reciprocating Type Screw Type
Positive Displacement type of Air Compressor can further be divided into two categories. Oil Injected and Oil Free.
QUALITY OF AIR
Quality of Air is very important as Contaminated Air may add on to Rejection and maintenance cost.
Material Responsible for reducing Quality
of Air are.
Water OR Moisture Content

IMPROVING QUALITY OF AIR
Drying of Compressed Air
Atmospheric Air Contains water vapor at any point of time. Higher the Temperature Higher the moisture content is.After Compression temperature of air is increased hence the moisture content.
AIR RECEIVER
An air receiver is essential to every compressed air system to act as a buffer and a storage medium between the compressor and the consumption system.
AIR DISTRIBUTION SYSTEM
Compressed air distribution system plays an important role as a source of power if designed , installed, maintained and operated properly.

SOME TIPS TO SAVE ENERGY
•Use air conditioning or fans to cool electrical cabinets instead of compressed air vortex tubes.
•Apply a vacuum system instead of creating a vacuum using compressed air venturi methods that flow high pressure air past Orifice.
•Use blowers instead of compressed air to provide cooling, aspirating, agitating, mixing, or to inflate packaging.
•Use brushes, blowers, or vacuum systems instead of compressed air to clean parts or remove debris.
•Stop unregulated use of Air at end User.
•Cut off air supply to abandoned Machines.
