Oerlikon Graziano at Excon 2009 in Bangalore (India) 25-29 November 2009 Oerlikon Graziano worldwide leader in the field of precision gearing, transmission solutions and driveline systems Rivoli (Torino – Italy), November 25th, 2009 – Oerlikon Graziano will attend at Excon

Bangalore (India) from 25 to 29 November 2009, in Hall 3 stand 197/176 to confirm its

leadership in the field of precision gearing, transmission solutions and to strengthen its

position as “Global Drive Systems Provider” in the Off-Highway market.

It is its innovative technologies and solutions combined with a worldwide footprint presence

in Europe (Italy, Russia, UK), North America (Indiana and Georgia) and Asia (China and

India) that have permitted to reach these results.

Today, Oerlikon Graziano is the preferred partner for co-design, testing and manufacturing

driveline systems for variety of special applications in the Off-Highway market, specially in

the Construction Equipment a huge and extremely reliable range of products is available.

Manufacturing Excellence

In 1997, Oerlikon Graziano was one of the first European manufacturer to establish a 100% owner

Company in India, challenging the market. Infact, Oerlikon Graziano India started its operations in

year 1999; the plant is located in Greater Noida (New Delhi) on 60.000 sqm having 23.000 sqm

covered area with full capitalized power (5625 KVA PLC controlled generators) and is specialised in

production of synchronisers, gears, axle and transaxle assembly for Construction Equipments,

Agricultural Tractors, Commercial Vehicles.

In 2007, Oerlikon Graziano India has expanded its plant to increase the capacity and offer to the

Customer latest technologies and high quality products.

In 2009 Oerlikon Graziano India will expect a turnover of 390 Crore Rupies (about 57 Mio Euros),

70% of which exporting high tech products to North America and Europe.

The future of Oerlikon Graziano India

Oerlikon Graziano India is today a strong asset of Oerlikon Graziano to expand the business

addressing the Customer requirements in contribution to European Operations. Now the

Company is under the management of Mr. Vivek Prakash - the new CEO - and its business

development is clear and well defined.

Gears and transmission components for high quality applications in the mobility market is the

core competence of the Company.

Technologies already available and also some under implementation, will strength the position of

the Company as the gear solution provider to all top Players in India, in Construction Equipment,

Agricultural Tractors and Commercial Vehicles.

In the last three years the Company has been challenged with three programs for manufacturing

and the assembling of complete drive systems for Off-Highway applications:

- the drive axles for JCB India wheeled loaders

- an innovative CVT transmission for the compact tractor range of CNH, fully industrialised in

India, and delivered to USA

- the gearbox for Club Car, a US Company world leader in golf, recreational and utility electric

vehicles

Products on display

- Axles for wheeled loaders. The axles with wet disk brakes (WDB) and featured with patented

pump oil circulation integrated into the differential with high efficient cooling of the brake disk

can be combined to provide support for wheeled loaders with machine operating weight from

11 to 24 tons. (Fig. 1)

- Crown wheel and pinion sets. Oerlikon Graziano has a worldwide reputation for the

manufacture of crown wheel and pinion sets used in the most technical challenging or

complex construction, agricultural equipment and specialist automotive applications, applying

all the technologies available on the market, today. Gleason Coniflex and Gleason Revacycle

methods are used for straight bevel gears, while Gleason, Oerlikon and Klinkelnberg systems

are used for spiral bevel and hypoid bevel sets.

Dry cutting on Gleason Phoenix machines as well as hard turning techniques are all utilised

in production. Lapping and grinding arte used to finish parts when requested (UMC is

available and applied on critical ratios whether low noise emission is required). Oerlikon

Graziano has been dispatching more than half million sets every year since 2000. (Fig. 2)


- Synchronisers. Oerlikon Graziano produces more than 800.000 synchronisers for agricultural

tractors, construction equipment, passenger cars and trucks. It also recognised as the world

leader in synchronisers for agricultural tractor applications. Oerlikon Graziano has the range

from 62 till 138 mm dia and has developed single, double and triple cone solutions. Oerlikon

Graziano has a proven capability by designing and manufacturing the power-shift clutches

using the most advanced manufacturing techniques including electron-beam welding system

(EBW). The technologies available for producing the clutch housing are flow forming, grob

rolling and our own fabricated broached design. We have the capability to design, develop

and test complete power-shift clutch units to customer specific applications. The power-shift

clutch pack units are fitted on the every power-shuttle and power-shift agricultural and

construction transmissions. Both synchroniser and power-shift clutch pack units will be fitted

on the every power-shuttle and powershifts construction and agricultural transmission.(Fig. 3)

- Precision gears and shafts. With more than 80 years of experience, Oerlikon Graziano is

world leader in the supply of gearing components for all mobility applications. (Fig. 4)
