Hunger
Increases food supply by being able to be grown throughout the year eg tomatoes
Increases food supply by being designed to be pest resistant hence less destruction of crops due to pest attacks
Food can be designed to be kept fresh over a longer period, lesser food wastage due to spoiling
Much crops especially large supplies due to GM seeds used instead for industrial purposes eg corn, soy beans instead of feeding the hungry hence hunger problem still prevalent
Malnutrition
Increases nutrient intake eg Golden Rice infused with Vitamin A which is found to be lacking in Asian diet, hence improving the food intake of Asians
Risks of triggering allergic reactions as it is not known if food that looks fine is indeed safe for consumption
