Killarney

Killarney, County Kerry is situated in the south-west corner of

Ireland.

The infrastructure is excellent for the purposes of welcoming

large numbers of people and, in our opinion has all the

ingredients for a perfect car launch.

Killarney is noted worldwide for its splendour; the beautiful

lakes surrounded by woodlands and its National Park

dominated by the Macgillycuddy Reeks mountain range.

Flight AccessKillarney is served by Kerry Airport, just 25km from the town.

Airbus and Boeing 757 aircraft areacapable of landing and take-off.

The airport is particularly user friendly andhas cooperated with OdysseyInternational in streamlining arrivals anddepartures for large group movements.

You might also be interested to hear that

previous clients interested in using Killarney for

a car launch enquired about access to the run

way in Kerry Airport and permission was

granted, so there are plenty of options for test

driving cars in all sorts of terrain with beautiful

surroundings.

Top Gear Live

World Tour 2009

In December 2009, Irish fans of Top Gear

motoring programme had the

opportunity to see the live show when

Top Gear Live World tour travelled to

Dublin in 2009. The Royal Dublin Society

(RDS) was host to the event and it

endured the burning rally cars, the world’s

largest interactive game and the world’s

first indoor loop-the-loop.

While Top Gear was in town, Dublin saw

the arrival of a B-747 cargo plane, three

ships and 135 trucks to haul all the kit

needed to produce the show. The kit

included almost 100 cars, 600 sets of tyres

and enough petrol to fuel a small

country!

Military Road, Co. Wicklow…. hard to

believe it is just 10 kilometres from

downtown Dublin

The R115 road is a regional road in counties

Dublin and Wicklow. It follows the Military Road

for its entire length. The R115 is 40.5 km long;

The full length of the suggested route is 110 km.

Military Road runs north-south across the spine

of the Wicklow Mountains. It was constructed

between August 1800 and October 1809, in the

wake of the 1798 rebellion, to open up the

mountains to the British Army to assist them in

putting down insurgents who were hiding there.

This route has regularly been included in The

Circuit of Ireland Rally.

Sample Route

Mondello Park International Race Circuit

Mondello Park is a name synonymous with car

and motorcycle racing and has been the

home of motorsport in Ireland since opening in

1968. Fully licenced, Mondello is in County

Kildare, 40 minutes from Dublin City.

Mondello is equipped with state of

the art launch facilities. It boasts a

fleet of 55 vehicles (including 4 x

Porsche). There is also a full

industrial spec. kitchen onsite. There are two circuits at Mondello ;

the National ( 1.8 kms) and the

International (3.5 kms)

See aerial view on next page.

Ireland has some really great off-road 4x4

circuits. There are 5 off-road driving centres in

counties Wicklow and Kildare which neighbour

Dublin.

Drive that 4x4!

Shannon Region

The West of Ireland is known the world over for

the beauty of its landscape and the warmth of

its welcome.

Running for over 8 km along the coast of this

region are the breathtaking Cliffs of Moher

(pictured), ranging 700 feet above the Atlantic

and standing as a giant natural rampart against

the aggressive might of the Atlantic Ocean. To

stand here in the face of a wind which has

roared its way across the Atlantic, is really a

spectacular feeling.

This is a single-terminal facility that’s compact

and easy to navigate. It was renovated at the

turn of the 21st century, delivering modern

traveller conveniences including free wireless

internet and airport shopping by The Loop, a

famous Irish airport retailer with additional

outlets in Dublin and Cork.Today, Shannon Airport serves around 1.75

million passengers every year. The main

carriers here are Aer Lingus and Ryanair, and

they are backed by several US-based airlines

and a network of charter routes connecting to

holiday destinations across Europe

in 2004. The route took in

the stunning Burren

Region, a unique lunar

landscape not far from

the castle.

We are privileged to have in this part of the

west of Ireland as unique a prize as The Burren.

The Burren can justly claim to be amongst the

most distinctive landscapes in Europe - a

grouping of phenomenon combines to make it

so. We devised a super rally through the Burren

for Continental Tyres back in 2004.
