WHY STEEL SYSTEMS?
- STRONG Steel is known for its exceptionally
strong properties in comparison with other
building materials. These mechanical properties
allow for greater loads and for greater carrying
capacities such as large weights of glass, for
example.
- DURABLE Jansen systems provide excellent
insulation values (up to the passive house
standard). Steel lasts for an extremely long time
and is an enormously durable solution since it is
100% recyclable. For this reason, it satisfies the
cradle-to-cradle principle.
- FIRE RESISTANT The melting temperature
of steel is considerably higher than for
other structures. Jansen offers you fire-safe
compartmentalisation systems with European,
Belgian and Dutch certification.
- SLIM APPEARANCE AND MAXIMUM ENTRY
OF LIGHT Because of steel’s strength, narrower
profiles can be used. Since steel makes larger
glass dimensions possible, the entirety appears
even slimmer. Proportionally more glass can be
applied in the more slender profiles, so daylight
gets maximum access to the interior space. The
more daylight, the less artificial light is required.
This looks good on your energy bill.
- ROBUST Welded structures are stronger and
allow for larger dimensions. Steel windows and
doors retain their stiffness and don’t sag with
the passage of time.
- LONG LIFESPAN Due to the stiffness of steel
and the welded corner joints, steel windows
and doors are stiffer and can stand up better
to vandalism and shocks in use-intensive
environments. Steel windows and doors
last longer for this reason. It is a long-term
investment.
- SOUNDPROOF Steel’s high density makes
good acoustic insulation possible. Ideal for
schools, music centres and public buildings, but
also for homes.
- LOW MAINTENANCE Steel is low-maintenance
and does not require any special care.
- BURGLARY RESISTANT Steel is more burglary
resistant than other materials. Jansen provides
burglary-resistant applications for every profile
system. A steel door can also be repaired after
an attempted break-in.
- AESTHETICS AND PURITY OF FORM Welded
constructions reveal no visible joinery. This
ensures stiff assemblies and a beautiful smooth
surface. Due to the stiffness achieved by
this, even narrower assemblies can often be
implemented than one might first have thought.
Steel surprises!

ODS AND JANSEN
Intensive, sustainable cooperation at the highest levelAt ODS, we always go for the long-term relationship - both with our customers and with our suppliers. Investing in each other keeps you on top of what’s going on and what’s required. We are convinced that this is the best basis to build on.
Our relationship with Jansen spans nearly 50
years. Our markets have their own require-
ments and desires based not only on climate,
laws and regulations, but also on architecture
and history. Based on this input, Jansen devel-
ops specific product lines at ODS’ request to
serve you optimally.
The relationship between ODS and Jansen
spans nearly 50 years.

INNOVATIVE BESPOKE WORK THAT SHOULD BE SEEN
More than just strong and functional: the added value of ODSThere are plenty of reasons to use our profile series in (renovation) projects. We know what we’re talking about. And when it comes to unique product specifications, this is also important. But – above all - you must see, experience and feel Jansen.
In our showrooms in Barendrecht and Antwerp, you can see how the products are built and
the specifications they satisfy. But we much prefer to take you for a drive around to see for
yourself everything that’s possible. There is a good reason that our high-value steel profiles
are used in many public buildings and museums.
The 20-cm thick door of a safe is a paragon of functionality and safety. We combine this
with beauty and practicality, to fit perfectly with your personal requirements and wishes.
Jansen is synonymous with remarkable buildings: aesthetics with a high insulation value,
more daylight, less artificial light and so less use of energy.

PARTNERS INSPIRE EACH OTHER
Unlimited creativity, everything begins with an ideaBy brainstorming and joining forces, we allow each other to grow. ODS provides support in the elaboration of your projects. We have concentrated all our knowledge in Barendrecht and Antwerp. From these strongholds of knowledge, we search together with you for distinctive details that provide your project with its own signature.
Often, architects explore the limits of what a
system supplier can guarantee. As far as we
are concerned, limits are there to be pushed.
Specialists at ODS evaluate the feasibility
of your plans. Project solutions arise from a
dialogue with each other. In this manner, we
search for bespoke solutions to the challenges
you face. ODS is the link between your vision
and the knowledge available in the market. Call
on our expertise. Our technical advisers are glad
to help you execute your projects.

ODS AS A PROBLEM SOLVER
You want to stand out. We supply the practical knowledge and the profiles.Whether it involves rebuilding, additions, renovation or new construction - in every case, this is precisely the opportunity to place your personal signature on the project. You determine the appearance of the final result, along with all the associated opportunities and risks. It’s about an optimum of functionality, safety and durability. And it must fit with the surroundings, of course, and with your organisation’s identity.
We note that you as a client have an increasing desire for a sparring partner in the initial
phases - a sparring partner who knows the ropes. In that case, we are glad to sit down
with you. Experience the personal attention of the specialist with a passion for profiles. We
have an eye and an ear for your desires. We know the market, we can show you the (im)
possibilities and we are completely up to date on all applicable laws and regulations. We
share our network and our experience with you. So we are there for you to help give shape
to your ideas.

THE SPARRING PARTNER FOR THE ARCHITECT
Think freely. We think along with you and help give shape to your design. Architects are artists who like to explore boundaries. This results in the difference between a concrete bunker and an elegant structure with lots of glass. Taste is subjective, of course, but we love open spaces and (if at all possible) huge amounts of natural light.
ODS provides feedback starting with
the very first design sketch and provides
recommendations for the formation of a
unique architectural vision. With Jansen, we
offer the technical support and innovative
solutions that enable you as an architect
to implement projects that do justice to
the original design, both technically and
aesthetically.

ODS IS AN EXTENSION OF YOUR ORGANISATION
The certainty of reliable, well-trained partners Not every fabricator has design facilities available. We can assist in that area. Simply taking orders is outdated. We offer added value in the form of professional, technical support. This is in everyone’s interest. It is the stable basis on which you can build and trust.
We want to know what your plans are, both out of interest and in order to prevent profiles
being used in situations for which they were not intended or where an alternative might
be better. Often, much more turns out to be possible than you think. We view it as our job
to inform you optimally. We perform the calculations on your design and we look at its
feasibility.
A solid product alone is not sufficient: it must also be properly fabricated, installed and
maintained. Clients deserve the best of the best - not only the products but also in terms
of service. For this reason, we pay close attention to our fabricators’ training. Together, we
work on 100% customer satisfaction.

STEEL WINDOWS, DOORS AND FAÇADES
Contemporary solutions for all possible building projectsSteel is known for its exceptional mechanical properties that make large loads and carrying capacities possible.
With Jansen’s steel and stainless steel profiles,
ODS delivers total solutions in steel doors,
windows and façades. Steel is extremely
strong and rigid. This makes large expanses of
glass possible with small profiles so that the
architect can play with natural light.
The welded structures are stylishly finished,
low-maintenance and can be implemented
in any RAL colour. Jansen profiles contribute
in this manner to the building’s architectural
concept.

STEEL WINDOWS WITH HIGH INSULATION VALUES
Narrow profiles, large dimensions, maximum natural lightIn steel windows, the welded joints provide great rigidity to the structural elements. This makes it possible to span relatively large dimensions with small profiles. The modulus of elasticity for steel is three times higher than that of aluminium. Steel can be used to achieve huge spans without expansion joints.
Both the insulated Janisol® window profiles
and the non-insulated Economy 50 window
profiles can also be delivered in stainless steel.
Demand is increasing for window systems that
insulate better. Jansen developed the Janisol®
HI series for this. This profile series combines
the advantages of steel with the passive house
standard.

STEEL DOORS
Incredibly strong narrow profiles that you can combineWith our steel door systems, you can construct large doors with relatively small profiles. Because steel doors are assembled using welded joints, the elements are extremely rigid. This results in large glass surfaces with a transparent character.
All door systems are aesthetically coordinated. The insulated Janisol® system and the
non-insulated Economy systems all have the same appearance. The big advantage of this
is that these can be combined in projects without the differences being visible - also when
you decide to implement one of these series as a fire resistant and/or burglary resistant
version. This offers the architect unity in the design in places where differing applications
are required.

CURTAIN FAÇADES, GLASS ROOFS AND CONSERVATORIES
Steel forms the aesthetic basis on which you can build further. Jansen VISS is a system of insulated frames and bars for curtain walls. This allows for the construction of widely varying façade structures, glass roofs or conservatories - both vertically and slanted - with a limited number of components.
The steel load-bearing structure exists in visible
widths of 50 mm or 60 mm and at standard
depths of up to 150 mm. Even larger spans
can be achieved with VISS Ixtra and the façade
retains its light and transparent character.
With Jansen VISS, the architect or client can
accommodate multiple requirements in a
single façade. Acoustic requirements and
stringent requirements for thermal insulation
and fire resistance are easily integrated
without compromising aesthetics. This is where
everything comes together.
Great rigidity makes large spans possiblevliesgevels

FIRE-RESISTANT, BURGLARY-RESISTANT AND BULLET-RESISTANT
Fire-resistant systems with architectural value The melting temperature of steel is considerably higher than that of other materials. Jansen steel window, door and façade systems are used extensively in projects because of their high aesthetic added value and safety.
ODS supplies burglary-resistant applications for every profile system according to
the applicable standards. Together with Jansen, we have undergone an extensive test
programme in order to develop an additional fire-resistant version for each series -
including Jansen VISS Fire. This programme has grown into an extensive range of solutions.
For example, we offer fire-safe compartimentalization systems with European, Belgian and
Dutch certification. Here, too, fire resistance is guaranteed only with the application of the
proper materials and with proper installation.
Testing alone is not sufficient where safety is concerned. Since ODS is but one link in the
chain of the building process, we voluntarily undergo inspections by external certification
bodies, together with our specialised fabricators. This means that each step in the
production process is inspected. Only by working in this manner can the required safety be
provided.
In Belgium, we work in accordance with the Benor/ATG inspection brand and in the
Netherlands we are KOMO certified with a product certificate from the SKG.

Renovation with steel
i
STEEL FRAMES - NOSTALGIC APPEARANCE WITH MODERN COMFORT
Our industrial heritage deserves Janisol Arte & Art 15For renovation projects, the choice of steel windows and door profiles is obvious. Fortunately, there is a general awareness that we must preserve our historical heritage. The right choice of materials is part of this.
The Janisol Arte profile series was specially developed by the Swiss company Jansen, at
ODS’ direction, for renovation projects of industrial heritage sites. Listed buildings, stately
old factories and old storehouses are characterised by distinctive windows with narrow
profiles. These can be perfectly reconstructed and insulated using slender Janisol Arte
profiles. The beautiful appearance of the old days combined with the highest installation
comfort and quality requirements of today. Janisol Arte is a system with the appearance of
the nostalgic narrow mullions, but then with extremely high insulation values.
The Janisol Arte profiles are very convincing with their visible widths of only 25-40 mm.
The raw materials chosen - steel and fiberglass reinforced high-value plastic - guarantee
a minimum loss of heat with maximum stability. Customary insulated glazing can be
built into these profiles without problems. Using only four profiles, the classic types of
movable parts for buildings from the first half of the previous century - parts such as
turning windows, dome windows, hopper windows, casement or pocket windows - can
be implemented. Fortunately, there are increasing numbers of people with historical
awareness. As a result, specifications these days more often demand aesthetically
appropriate solutions that also, of course, meet all today’s applicable requirements and
desires. Janisol Arte fits seamlessly into this. It satisfies the very highest requirements in the
area of wind and watertightness and thermal insulation according to CE product standard
EN 14351-1. It’s an example of Swiss craftsmanship that should be seen.
For use in non-thermal constructions we recommend Art 15.

EVERYTHING FITS
Quality demands quality A museum door that is opened and closed thousands of times each day must be of superior quality. A fire-resistant door must actually do its work in emergencies. Quality demands quality.
Investing in professional fire-resistant doors
and then using too simple a door closure
mechanism undermines safety. Problems can
result from a solid Jansen door being equipped
with inferior hinges and closures. This unfortunate
combination jeopardises the system’s working
and its guarantee.
Therefore, ODS supplies a series of certified
products that are specially developed for all of
the Jansen product lines that we carry. These
vary from hinges to electronically activated door
closing systems that close doors completely
automatically. The fabricators whom we train
ensure that you profit maximally from our
products.

Your guarantee of 100% qualityASK ODS FOR A RECOMMENDATION. IT ’S FREE!
- Use the Jansen specification texts provided
by ODS. They contain important elements
that will determine the ultimate quality of
your projects. They require fabrication and
material processing that are state-of-the-art
and that comply with applicable standards,
and they exclude the use of inferior
alternatives.
- When tendering, request the identification
of the subcontractor with whom the tender
contract is awarded according to your
specification text.
- When tendering, request separate price
specifications for the steel windows and doors
section. Significant price differences often
indicate misinterpretation of your design or
insufficient attention to important details.
- Request CE labelling if applicable. The
CE label guarantees the quality of the
materials used and that the entire system
has undergone certain quality tests and
that the fabricator guarantees delivery
and placement in conformance with the
system’s product guidelines.
- Request the Benor/ATG label (B) or SKG
certificate (NL) for fire-resistant doors. You
can then be certain that the fabricator has
been inspected both in his workplace and
at the construction site by an independent
inspection body for working method and
quality.

MAINTENANCE, SERVICE AND GUARANTEE
ODS guarantees the quality of all its products and services. As an end-user, you do business with an architect or construction company who, in turn, does business with ODS. If so desired, we can always be your fixed point of contact for maintenance, service and guarantee.
The best car brands require maintenance after a given number of kilometres. This also goes
for the very best windows, doors and façades. The vital components must be checked at
fixed intervals. This increases the lifespan of the product and prevents problems in the long
run.
Our quality products are used extensively in both private projects and public buildings
such as schools and stations and office buildings. Each type of building fulfils a different
function and requires an appropriate type of maintenance. As a full-service partner, ODS
can take care of your concerns by drawing up a maintenance plan for you. We record
everything in this so that you are guaranteed carefree use.

For many, steel equates with expensive.
At ODS, we always associate steelwith durability.
EVERYTHING REVOLVES AROUND SUSTAINABLE THINKING AND SUSTAINABLE DOING.
Since we only have one world, we’d like to make it a bit more beautiful. Steel is itself a very ecologically sound product. After a long lifespan, it can be completely recycled. Furthermore, our systems are developed in such a way that unnecessary energy consumption is avoided. For example, the Jansen VISS systems can be installed completely with mechanical T-connections.
We guarantee that you can make maximum use of steel’s advantages in the design. In
this, exceptionally narrow profiles are achievable that allow maximum daylight into your
project. In addition to the mental comfort, this light is free and saves you the cost of
artificial lighting. And there are additional energy advantages.
Jansen façades insulate in conformance with the passive house standard and can even
generate energy. We calculate the energy savings and potential yield for you. With the
Janisol Arte product line, ODS supplies longer-lasting solutions that align with the cradle-
to-cradle principle and with the original intention, among other things. The beautiful
appearance of the old days combined with the highest installation comfort and quality
requirements of today.
