I made the enclosed image in August 2012 This octopus was originally a gift for Marousia from Rodrigues. The lagoon is particularly shallow there so women hunt them by walking in the water with a long spike. Then they dry on the side of the road. Marou was utterly surprised and told me this was a big gift. The kind that you would break off the tentacles and give them to your neighbors in celebration.
