Director’s Corner September has moved on and now we hope we will be getting into some cooler days.

Our children will be enjoying the pumpkin patch & all the orange secrets it holds. Our firemen will come visit and teach us about fire safety. We will dress up and go treating with all our friends in other classes on the hall.

The church will be having a Fall Festival, with a variety of activities We hope everyone will come!

Picture Time

Ms. Donna from Portrait Makes will be here on Monday, October 14th and Tuesday, October 15th to take fall pictures of our beautiful children.

There is no obligation to have pictures taken or to purchase pictures once they are made. This is a fundraiser for the Preschool.

Individual pictures are taken at this time. You may request that sibling pictures be taken together. Just drop by the office to sign up.

Teachers will send out reminders so your children can dress for success.

Tuition

Just a reminder tuition is due on the first of each month. Starting in October, after the 10th a late charge of $10 will be added to your account. Please talk to Ms. Lynne regarding your payment if needed. Monthly tuition is as follows:

2 year old T & Th classes $190.00

2 year old MWF classes $220.00

3 & 4 year old T & Th classes $190.00

3 & 4 year old MWF classes $220.00

4 year old M-F classes $310.00

We accept check, cash (bring to office and get receipt), Visa, Mastercard, Bank ACH or you can complete a form to have tuition automatically deducted from your bank account each month. You will be emailed an invoice on the 1st of each month. You can pay tuition from the invoice also. Please let us know if you have not received an email with your invoice.

Hi-Lighted Car Pool safety notes

Never leave your car running, especially with children left in the car while you bring another child into the Preschool.

If you are walking your child into the preschool, please come into the parking lot at the Judd Parkway entrance by the adult wing (not through carpool). Park in the back of the church and bring your child through the back hallway door. It is very dangerous to park on the carpool side (off Academy Street) and walk in front of moving traffic.

Every child must have a car seat! It is a NC State Law. All car seats should be front facing.

Never drop your child off at the door unless there is a teacher or assistant there to take them into the building! If there is no one there to bring your child in always walk your child to their class.

Teachers CAN NOT buckle children into car seats.

Fall Weather - With the fall weather starting please send in a warmer change of clothes for your child to keep at school. Also make sure you are sending a jacket for your child to wear outside. It can get chilly on the playground and we don’t want any of our little friends to be cold.

Come join us on Sunday, October 27th from 4pm to 6:30pm at our church Fall Festival.

There will be fun games based on our Bible stories and Trunk ‘n Treating for our children. This is a safe way for our children to go trick or treating.

There will be a bounce house, obstacle course, chili contest, food vendors, music, mission information tables, pre-carved pumpkin contest, F-V Firemen with their big truck & more.

Preschool will be giving away bottled water & cookies. Please come by & visit.

So dress up in your Halloween costumes, bring a treating bag...Oh and of course bring your children.

Fall Festival = Family Fun!!!

Fall Stuff Pumpkin Patch

Each year during our regular Preschool day we have our own miniature fall festival for our children. During this time the children go “treating” in each classroom.

To ensure that we have enough treats for all our preschoolers, we would appreciate any bags of individually wrapped candy that you are willing to donate. Leave all candy donations in the tub by Ms. Lynne’s office. Thanks for the Treats!!!

We will be open on Wednesday, October 31. This is a banked day/makeup day for MWF & 5 day students for the day we were closed on September 6th.

We need your time. There are still openings to sit at the Pumpkin Patch.

If you would like to volunteer for a 2 hour shift please drop by & see Ms. Lynne.

Shifts are 10am-12pm, 12pm-2pm, 2pm-4pm & 4pm-6:30 pm.

Time spent in the patch is a fundraiser for the Preschool.

Mission Quilt Sale Fundraiser

If you are a quilt lover, but do not like to sew, here is an opportunity to own a handmade quilt. Our church “Quilting with Faith” group will be selling quilts, table runners, wall hangings and other quilted items on Friday, October 25th 12pm - 8pm, Saturday, October 26th 10am - 7pm & Sunday, October 27th 9pm - 1pm. All proceeds will go to Church missions with the buyer designating which mission they wish to support, this includes the Preschool. So come shop & find that one of a kind gift.

Fair Trade Store

On Friday, October 25th & Saturday, October 26th from 10am to 5pm and Sunday, October 27th from 3pm to 7pm FVUMC will be hosting its annual Fair Trade Store.

A variety of international handmade items will be available on the Adult Wing of the church room 117. All proceeds from the sale go back to the artisan, their families and communities.

What a great way to start your seasonal shopping and help someone less fortunate make a living!

Playground Safety

While using the playground please watch your children to make sure they are playing safely. Do not let them climb on top of the slides and play houses. We know its fun to talk with other parents but please keep an eye on your children.
