ST. JUDE THE APOSTLE CATHOLIC CHURCH Established 1966
9150 Highland Road Baton Rouge, Louisiana 70810
(On the Corner of Highland Road and Gardere Lane)
October is Respect Life Month And to grow a Culture of Life, St. Jude will host 24 straight hours of Eucharistic Adoration. Adoration will begin in Church on Tuesday, October 20 at 6 PM with Benediction and continue uninterrupted until 6 PM on Wednesday, October 21. Spend a peaceful hour in prayer in the presence of our Lord for the sake of the weakest and most vulnerable, the sick, the elderly, the unborn, the poor, the disabled, those on death row, and migrants and refugees. They are all masterpieces of God’s creation. Contact Kyle Balkum at 225-819-9526 or [email protected] if you’d like to participate in this beautiful devotion.
What a beautiful morning we shared together! We truly enjoyed meeting all of you and your fur babies. Thank you to everyone who participated. What do you think your pet was thinking? Please comment or tag us on social media @StJudeBR. Many blessings.
Thank goodness we’re out of the house! Look! People!

St. Jude Christmas ‘Giving Tree’ Parishioners – We have begun taking requests for our annual Christmas Giving Tree. We encourage our St. Jude parishioners ‘in need’ to let your church family assist you, as we all celebrate the birth of our Lord.
Names are kept highly confidential.

The run is strictly for students and takes place on October 30th at the close of our Fun Run Fundraising Campaign.
The students enjoy a fun day where classes take turns running through our decorated Fun Run track on campus with a DJ and refreshments. This is our 5th annual Fun Run and the proceeds go towards improvements at school - namely renovation of the bathrooms that have been lovingly preserved for 30 years. St. Jude Home & School is the name of our parent volunteer organization which plans this event and many others around campus. We have several corporate sponsors whose donated funds cover the cost of the event so all funds collected during the campaign go straight back to the school’s improvement projects.
If you would like to contribute to our fundraising campaign, you may donate by visiting our website:
https://charityauction.bid/SJSFunRun Your support reminds us of God’s faithfulness, even during challenging times. We sincerely appreciate your contribution which allows St. Jude Home and School Association to continue to provide the best resources to our students. “Whoever brings blessing will be enriched, and one who waters will himself be watered.” Proverbs 11:25 ESV

In 1926 Pope Pius XI instituted Mission Sunday for the whole Church with the first worldwide Mission Sunday collection taking place in October 1927. The Mission Sunday collection is always taken on the next to last Sunday during the month of October. That day is celebrated in all the local Churches as the feast of catholicity and universal solidarity so Christians the world over will recognize their common responsibility with regard to the evangelization of the world.

Culture of Life Reflections “No sin or crime is greater than God’s mercy. The sacrifice of the Cross reveals that Christ’s greatest desire is to forgive those with a repentant heart.”
