Memory Matters, a 501(c)(3) non profit organization, was founded as Alzheimer?s of Glynn/Brunswick in 1994. In 2016 services were expanded to include all forms of adult onset memory impairment, including Alzheimer's, Parkinsons, traumatic brain injury, and was renamed Memory Matters. Memory Matters is not affiliated with the National Alzheimer's Association but does have an alliance with the Alzheimer's Association of America. The organization's facility is a house leased for $1 per year from SGHS. There is a three pronged approach to management: - Support. Visits and meetings for caregivers - share struggles - get feedback Free Memory screenings - useful information for GP/Neurologist etc Provide one on one support to caregivers - Education. Speaking engagements about memory problems Resource center for e.g. estate planning, evacuation, elder law In service training programs for Alzeimer care staff at other facilities - Enrichment. Gatherings & activities for persons with memory problems, caregivers. friends and family Alzheimer's is the 6th leading cause of death and 5th leading cause after age 65. The goal of Memory Matters is to increase dexterity, movement and socialization. Brain games, painting, coloring are used with between 14 and 40 people participating at a time. In 2019, they helped 1,095 people, providing over 200 education and enrichment events. The service is provided free by a staff of 2 and volunteers, with finances coming from donations, fundraisers and grants.

Dr. Laura Lynch is Assistant Vice President for Faculty Affair s and Associate Professor of Mathematics at the College of Coastal Georgia. Working at the College since 2011, her cur rent role al lows her to work w ith faculty in al l discipl ines, making her r ather uniquely quali f ied at the College to put together a multidiscipl inar y team of faculty for a pandemic-focused global issues course. Dr. Lynch earned her PhD from the Univer si ty of Nebraska-Lincoln.

Dr. Neda Moinolmolki is an Assistant Professor of Psychology at the College of Coastal Georgia. Dr. Moinolmolki special izes in applied r esearch on at-r isk populations. Much of her r esearch examines the ecological predictor s of psychological well-being of vulnerable populations throughout the l i fespan. Dr. Moinolmolki earned her Ph.D. from the Univer si ty of Delaware.

Mrs. Lee McKinley is Depar tment Chair of Business Administr ation and Associate Professor of Health Informatics at the College of Coastal Georgia. She joined the College in 2015 as faculty for the Health Informatics Bachelor of Science program and was recently selected as Depar tment Chair of Business Administr ation and Health Informatics. She received her MBA from the Univer si ty of Georgia and has completed the Post-Baccalaureate Cer ti f icate in Health Information Administr ation from Georgia Health Sciences Univer si ty (Augusta Univer si ty). She holds the Registered Health Information Administr ator (RHIA) cer ti f ication from Amer ican Health Information Management Association?s Commission on Cer ti f ication in Health Informatics and Information Management (AHIMA/CCHIIM).

I know each year the PE's tr y to get his/her off icer s to attend Distr ict Assembly. Well this year there is no excuse. The col lege we were going to meet at on the 27th of June is not hosting any event just yet. So DGE Steve and his team are going to hold a Vir tual Distr ict Assembly on that Saturday (June 27th).

By now most of you have attended a meeting by Zoom. This Assembly is going to be that way as well . Not only are we hosting one onSaturday, but we w i l l have the breakout sessions you requested at PETS for your off icer s, star ting on Monday June the 29th. The sessions are 50 minutes each, for Membership, Foundation,Grants, DACdb, Rotar y Club Central, Youth, etc. Rotar ians can select whatever sessions they are interested in.

The top Rotar y International Leadership for our 2020-21 year w i l l be our key note speakers on Saturday. (The RI President, Senior RI Dir ector and RI Dir ector Elect)
